Is there much of a craft beer scene in Brazil? I know it's becoming a trend in Mexico (not to compare the two countries, but it's nice to see that it's extending beyond our borders).

I almost feel its a moral imperative if a friend of mine has mentioned a beer to me and then if I see it, I almost have to get it for them. Shit, I've done it twice in the last week. I sent away 3 KBS's this past April to friends of mine outside Founders distro areas, and it felt good to help them out. I'm not a trader/mailer so it felt even better to me because as much as I like handing a buddy of mine a beer, I felt like I was doing these friends a bigger favor because it was truly something they couldn't get.
I also have a friend of mine, who's out of his gourd by the way, who gives beer away on a semi-weekly basis.

The person who mentioned their wife: I almost wish my wife was pregnant again. Haha, I've pretty much split every bomber with her (let's say its still a little tilted in my direction, not much, haha) since my second little one arrived.

Really enjoy finding and sharing new beers with people. My wife thinks I'm nuts for all the time and energy that goes into trading and hunting for new beer, she enjoys the hell out of the beer though

I usually share more than give away, I buy a lot of 22-ouncers, they're easy to share with friends...If I get my hands on an unusual (or out of state) sixer, I'll givve out one or two

You're right, I hate drinking alone, unless I'm by myself

Exactly, I share and give away a lot of beer to my local friends and neighbors. I've been trying to make BAs out of a few neighbors (and one of their 21 year old sons). Holding a small bottle share this weekend, and since I'm "home alone" I told them anyone who comes early gets Lawson's, Boulevard BBQ and can basically raid my fridge.

To be sure what is happening here is not near the USA scene, but now we have much more access to craft beers made around the world, including USA.

The number of brazilian craft beers is increasing too in a slow and steady pace, but here still is the kingdom of American Adjunct Lagers and our craft breweries, despite some experimentation, still tend to make "watery beers",but even like this our scenario is changing with breweries like Wäls.

That being said, we are much more importers than exporters, we're just in the beginning of a scene, but there are hundreds of thousands beers around the world just waiting for me, while I'm in this pilgrimage for foreigner beers, the brazilian scene is evolving and I'll take a sip or two of our beers too.

Hot damn that sounds mighty nice. I was kinda missing that sort of thing (potlucks, BBQs and stuff like that) when I was in Florida.
Right now I'm considering doing a "house warming tasting" after I've moved next month if I can get some people to show up and my new flat-mates aren't too busy.

Just gave one of my valued BCBS's to a new friend who never tried it. Makes me feel as warm inside as if I had consumed the bottle myself.

I too enjoy sharing. I had a buddy come over Sunday and we killed a growler of Hoppy Birthday, and it was delicious. It was after I took my 5 year old to his little league game in 100+ degree weather, and my buddy took his kid to his basketball game in a gym that wasn't air conditioned. The cold beer really hit the spot. And I bought that growler, and another (Pure Hoppiness) with full intention of sharing them, as I can't necessarily drink them all to myself once opened in time to enjoy it while it's fresh. I prefer mixing up the beers I drink when I do.

I've also got a buddy down the 5 and he and I mail bombers back and forth with things we can't find, and we don't keep a running tab on who owes who what. It's worked out nicely.

My first few trades were real eye openers about how awesome it is to get local extras..... those trades were so good that I (try) to keep that same level for all my future packages. This goes double for first time traders. I can't believe a community this large is so reliably generous.

I share and I give and I grant gifts as long as my wallet affords me too. The reactions I get are a 100X better than the generosity I give

Had a buddy who recently did that in the state Kentucky. Bought this cat a pint, who was cool at the bar... and I'm pretty sure that makes him officially married to ol' boy, from what we're told lol.

Never been to Kentucky. But if I ever get there, I won't be buying anyone a beer.

I always include a generous amount of extras when I trade but I have traded with people on more than one occasion that dont include anything, which is fine I dont really care. I have also given away beer here on BA as well and will continue to this. I love when people get to try beers that they cant get in their area.

I share what I acquire from trades, nearly 100% of the time. I am not a fan of drinking alone anyway:wink:

I do expect that disposable income factors in to this for many. I wonder if many of you are like me and know people who drink craft beer, not BMC, but who just pick up the usual suspects (Sam Adams seasonals and Lager, Harpoon IPA, SNPA) and don't stray much from that? Those are my usual targets. I love introducing those folks to some mind blowing beers. I also have some friends who clearly like really good beers, but who don't have the time or ability to track them down. Those are the guys I've got coming Saturday.
