I can't believe hoarders were getting extra bottles and selling on CL. I found Darkness available in the Metro in stores for a week and got plenty pretty easily.

I'm curious how you ID the "average" Surly drinkers vs. the "hoarders" with "mules". You might have looked at me with my cute wife & spat "mule", but I'll wager she's been drinking Darkness for longer, & in more quantity, than most of the guys on this board. Hard to judge a mule by its cover.

I guess I'm a hoarder. Good to know.

@Junkfish, YEAH GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE WITH YOUR POSITIVITY (sarcasm).

And I guess I am a hoarder too then. No beard, some high fives depending on the number of beers I've had, and leave right after bottle sales... Oh and my wife came with and bought bottles too because she loves beer.

But really, what is your mule scoring rubric @SwinginParty?

    Last year I didn't even camp. I'm such a poser/hoarder/muler/bad person.

The first step to recovery from being such a douche is admitting it @ToadiesForCody :stuck_out_tongue:

I guess people who cannot spend a consecutive 24 hours devoted to beer are unworthy of buying it. I enjoy beer, but also enjoy spending time doing other things. I'll get my 6 bottles of Darkness (and so will my GF, so we can share and gift them to our friends), have a beer or 3 before I pick them up, and bail right afterwards.

If I bring my ice fishing tent and grill and table and chairs and heater... etc.. When the line starts moving and I leave all this behind will it still be there when I return? (if my stumbling ass can find it)

In the past, tents have had to be taken down before sunrise.

Last year I left my chairs and my buddy left his cooler behind while the wristbands were handed out. Once we got our wristband we took our chairs and stuff back to our car. I guess there is a chance somebody could mess with your stuff, but I would say highly unlikely. There will always be somewhat of a risk leaving your stuff.

The quicker you're able to collapse your tent and set-up as the line forms, the better. I usually spend a few trips tearing down the fort and hauling stuff back to the car while my wife holds our spot in line as they start lining up (or warning you they're about to start the line up) for distributing wrist bands.

What's with all this tent nonsense? I'm just gonna form a toasty sleeping bag burrito and sleep where I fall

As long as someone drunk ass doesn't hijack your sleeping bag burrito, sleep in it and then proceed to throw up in it later. Yes, this happened last year (not to me, thank god ). Remember that, @richardflyr? (also didn't happen to him, either).

Yeah, Scott is super butthurt about being puked on and having his sleeping bag ruined. He's not coming this year!

I suppose it depends on how much they ship to Chicago and if they hold some back for wi and IA

This is what I'm looking for as well, but will unlikely be able to attend. I think I have a few friends going who aren't picking up their allotment either. I'll try to swing by Friday about 11pmish just to try out and share a few beers, maybe drop off some bottles of homebrew or something as well.
