I know it's a joke but it's an industrial park area, no benches no homeless people. No nothing

As an economics major, I see no reason why they shouldn't raise the price to a point that only 425 people MAX would be willing and/or able to stand in line. Why should they leave the cash difference between "trade value" or secondary markets on the table? Its never made sense to me.

And in this case, it's beginning to sound like not doing may be dangerous.

I think the issue with doing that is you risk alienating people who spend money the rest of the year on your other products. Some people will turn around and sell for $200 plus but I hope they are in the minority

-If alienation of a customer base is an issue, then have some way to track who's buying all this beer throughout the year and give out those preferred allotments the day before, at whatever cost.

-As it stands, the loyal customer in the current scenario has a chance at getting some, but really has a better chance that they are going to waste a Saturday and be shut out completely... and/or dealt a hand of drama by the out-of-state sweaty masses.

Reason I ask is that Huna day was a festival of sorts, that was planned months in advance. I'm honestly a bit skeptical (just a bit) that this will be a problem for those that arrive at 6:00 AM. I could be and probably am quite wrong, but it's the pretty hardcore dudes that will wait in line for 3-4 hours for a beer without being able to drink, bottleshare, etc.

Black Friday release at Binny's in Chicago had the same things and people started lining up at 11pm the night before.

Yes, people will wait for this stuff for long periods of time, even if they can't drink.

Did Binny's allow people to line up whenever they wanted? Just curious since Westbrook is saying no line until 6.

Very true, but the closest city that even comes close to the population of Chicago and Atlanta which are each 4+ hours away. Also, not a ton of places to hide around the brewery.

Boy, the HypeTrain is at an all time strength, already...the trade forums are bursting the database, before it even gets released.

That, and they are releasing more bottles of each variant than were released last year. There will be over 1,200 bottles of the DB, which is a TON. And over 800 bottles of the other two. Also, a pretty big number.
