Yep, back in my day (last year) we showed at 9 and were in the first 20 people. Now you gotta have camping equipment and shit.

The is no one allowing people to camp in the woods. The only property the belongs to Westbrook is the tree filled area behind the dumpsters. The rest belong to another owner. Camping on other people's property is trespassing, and the cops have already been directed to patrol overnight. I don't care what anyone does, but this is just a warning. If you think you are going to camp anywhere around the industrial park area for the release, you are probably going to giVe the Mt P police reason to start arresting. These cops are bored, and will look for a reason to bust you. Just some advice. IMO, the best plan is to drive up between 5-6 am and hang out until the line starts at 6. That's all I have to say about that. Be safe and enjoy, people. The real fun starts at noon.

***New Addition: If you would like to bring tents and/or chairs to hang out on the wooded lot on the right of the brewery (if you're looking at the brewery from the street), please feel free to do so!***

That's an update to the original FB post Westbrook made....

Pretty sure that means after 6am, so anyone thinking of camping there should probably clarify. The workers have not been told that the camping thing has changed.

Clarification is good, the original wording was a bit ambiguous.

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. Its like you're not even trying to create chaos through your own wildly asinine interpretation of a post.

But I'll be damned if those dumpsters that you mentioned earlier don't sound cozy:wink:

Don't be silly. I am giving straight info, from the people organizing it. I was correct, you are not allowed to camp there overnight. The tents are allowed after 6am. Maybe you should listen to the people working the event.

If that was an actual post, I am baffled by the stupidity of it. Potentially well intentioned, but come on, how did they think the masses would perceive that.

As I read these posts, I'm honestly starting to believe that this is going to be a disaster. I hope its not, cause like I said the Westbrook folks are good people. But this is not being handled well, at all. I'd give 10-1 odds that there is at least 1 arrest. And I am being serious.

On a side note, and more optimistic note, if any locals actually do get some of these beers, and are interested in a tasting, I'd be more than willing to host. I have a lot of bottles I could throw in as well, although none will be the whalezbro BA Cakes, some of them are pretty solid. I'll put out a nice cheese plate too !

In all honesty, I'm looking forward to being in line all night. The bottle share is going to be amazing!

Would it slow everybody from getting there extra early if they limited everybody to 1 set apiece? It would allow 850 people to have the beer. I wonder if they just want to get it sold or if they want more people to try it. It may be too big of a hassle to have 850 people waiting. How many people do you guys think will be there at 5 in the morning?

Never been...but will there really be more than 400 people trying to line up by 6am?

Geez. I thought chicago releases were bad. The south takes it too another level of chaos!

I totally agree. While this beer can open doors to try others beers, all i care about is trying these beers. I did not get to try any from last year. Limiting 1 set per person would discourage some folks from making the trek.

    Lottery.....

keep in mind a couple things:
    1. with huna last year, CCB told people there is no reason to show up before the event started at 11 (or 12...whatever it was). the people that decided to come early were the ones who had access to the extra catador beers (DBH)....also, the ones that showed up when CCB told them to were stuck for a long ass time in a line that stretched onto a road with traffic. so, anyone that came to huna day last year that plans on going to this is not going to be naive enough to just show up when WB tells everyone to.
    2. When CCB did wristbands, people showed up around 2:00 am, when the beer pouring for the event was not getting poured until 11. now they did let people in around 7-8 the last year they did wristbands. I showed up around 5:30, and was able to get the band that had the full allotment (in fact, anyone that showed up 2 years ago could have gotten as much as they wanted).

I just think that WB may be under estimating people comign from all parts of the country for this release. People have been saving money for travels just to come get these beers. now that there is a decent amount of limits on each variant, i think this just fuels the fire for people to come. I hope this release goes smoothly, but with every release of highly sought after beers the last year being crazy, this one will not be any different. Good luck to all those going, and hope noone gets injured or no altercations occur.

Long time lurker, first time poster here. That said, I'm a local and would be game for something like this. I still have a Brandy Barrel Old Time that I've been looking to share.

Still not sure what time I'll hit the lot, sounds like a shitshow is a brewin!
