I love it. On any given day people post how Jai Alai drops off so fast and draft is the only way and <insert jai alai freshness opinion> but when I say it you all disagree. From now on I'm quoting every time someone mentions Jai Alai and freshness.

I like to drink Jai Alai while watching His Freshness, Will Smith.

Just make sure it's fresh! I'm local and had it at a few restaurants and it really turned me off. Probably old.

Cigar city gives them a 3 month shelf life. What my distributor said.

I don't know if it has changed, but the 8/12 cans I've been drinking have been the best I've ever had.

Side note: I have a feeling the relationship with the Brew Hub (and their extensive QC department and equipment) should only help the consistency and quality going forward.

Nothing changed, but the fact it was canned 6 days ago probably has a little to do with it. It drops off extremely fast, I think. You have it inside of a week of canning, mighty fresh!!

Yes, the freshness is very important - especially with Jai Alai I've found. But all I drink is 2 weeks or younger the last several months...not because I'm a snob (I am), but because I can always find it that fresh between Publix and the bottle shops. So I was comparing with previous batches at their same ages.

And I drank most of these at 2 days old...because I obviously drain pour at a week old.

Just wanted to chime in that my batch I received canned 7/29/2014 tastes nothing like the one I had previously. It's sad. I know it's three weeks old, but that's what happens when you order it online and they send it UPS Ground. Bummer...maybe I will try again. My dad got an 8/04/2014 batch and it tastes fine. Just an FYI I guess.

Was at the brewery the other day and the bartender and another customer were talking shop, and when Jai Alai came up, they talked about how good it was....then the bartender says something to the effect of its good, but its really inconsistent and seems yo vary batch to batch.

This thread instantly came to mind. Lol.

I managed to grab a few cans the other day at TW before heading up to Raleigh and brought them up to share, didn't realy look at the date until we were breaking them out and realized it had been canned the day before (so 3 days old at serving). Hate to admit it but that fresh it was by far the best batch I've had. Hoping for the same with the HDR I picked up up here!

Great beer, but wildly inconsistent over the last year. And, to support others above, this beer drops off faster than any IPA I've ever had. Cigar City is having some growing pains, but when this beer is dialed in, it's one of my faves.

Noticing this too. I just picked up a 9/10 batch the other day that was not up to what I would expect...

Invasion is awesome. I buy it over Jai Alai anyday. Kills any and every session IPA. Unfortunately we see it rarely.

You see Invasion rarely? Where are you at in Florida? I agree that it is awesome, one of my favorite pales but I prefer Jai Alai.

I agree Jai Alai falls off fast as hell, no idea why but it just does. It's good fresh, but more resembles a really mild PA in taste. I generally don't buy month old IPAs, but I would absolutely guarantee I'd pass on month old Jai Alai.

Taste in beer can change daily. Love Jai Alai. Sometimes it doesn't hit right. Next day, nectar of the gods. For me Jai Alai is one of the worst. Talking same 6 pack here

So, one day you had a bad day, ate tuna for lunch, had a sardine sandwich for dinner and didn't want a beer. Jai Alai is terrible right about then (any beer, really).

The next day, you had a great day, great burger for lunch, came home and the wife jumped you. Jai Alai is perfect right about then (any beer, really).

    Any questions?
