Double Dose release at Mad River Glen

But I see you have had Citra IIPA from Kern, which I've been wanting to try. See that you didn't rate Zombie Dust to high, which I also agree with, and that you place Double Sunshine higher than Heady, which I also agree with. I would like to get a hold of Maine Beer Company's "Dinner", I hear that is quite awesome.

 

Given that the release has been on Lawson's site for over a week and the crowds that he draws I'm thinking more of trying to score some at Otter Creek's release on Saturday

 

I suspect the MRG Double Dose event to probably be somewhat light and not very busy seeing that the event takes place at 3-5pm on a Friday rather than Saturday or Sunday. That limits the event to locals who can take off work early and travel to MRG on a Friday (or to beer hunters who don't mind taking off half a day of work to drive to MRG for DD).

Last year's Double Dose/Harvestfest event in Middlebury was also pretty light as well. Seems that very few people travel to Middlebury and non-locals tend to just hit Waterbury and Burlington for beer related trips (unless they happen to drive through another town on their way to Waterbury or Burlington). If you head to Middlebury on Saturday, you should have a good chance to getting some Double Dose.

 

If you're in Middlebury on Saturday I can 99% guarantee you will get some Double Dose.

 

I was just told by the convince store at the end of my street it was coming in their regular delivery at 7 am tomorrow. Neighbor who works for distributor confirmed it was in warehouse and going out tomorrow in vt.

 

This is the kind of recon I love about BA.

 

Well folks, both our crews have done their jobs and now its time to drink some great beer. No Double Dose will be available outside of today's pop-up sale at Mad River Glen, Saturday's Waitsfield Framers Market, or Otter Creek Brewing/ Harvestfest for the duration of this weekend. All Double Dose being shipped to all distribution points will start heading out on Monday the 22nd. We hope to see you at one of the events this weekend. Let's get dosed!

You were misinformed. Same recipe and process as last year. The only thing different is the varieties and quantities of the donated fresh VT hops added to the whirlpool. Hopefully you’ll be as pleased as Sean and I were when we shared a bottle right off the line yesterday morning!

Source that I trust (restaurant owner) just told me that CT will not be seeing Double Dose this year. Would love to hear from someone that that isn't true .... I was lucky to be in VT when released last year and have no plans to be up there this year so it would be a disappointment for sure.

 

I'm sure thats not true, considering our salesman told us that there would be very little like last year. Maybe no kegs coming to CT, but thats just what ive heard from a source close to the product.

 

Otter Creek is saying: "Double Dose will see limited distribution in the following states: VT, CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI. We plan to ship it out early next week. Cheers!"

I saw that there was a SNAFU with western CT distribution last year. Don't remember the exact reason, but I think they have it worked out this year.

 

Maybe it's a Fairfield County thing (I admittedly have no idea how many distributors have OC in CT) ... I now have a second source (very reputable liquor store owner this time) ... same message from his rep ... no Double Dose

 

I think there is four... and all four got Double Dose. Atlas, Merrimack, Colonial, and Burke. Let's not jump to conclusions and let this play out... shall we?

 

Both these guys have someone else (other than the 4 you mentioned) as their OC rep based on the emails they forwarded me today. Who knows ... (either that or they don't know who they get OC from, but I doubt that)

 

Idk where youre located, but Hartford countys distributor for OC is ROGO and we were told it was coming to Hartford area, but not much. NO clue about where you are.

 

Fairfield County ... I believe it's Northeast Bev around here, but not 100% sure.
