Cheers and safe travels to everyone going on Saturday! I'll cross my fingers for whatever weather you are hoping for.

So people of integrity intentionally break rules established by the same people who's beer we are there to get? Good to know. Am also dying to know how you plan to go about stopping it. Based on what I'm seeing from this thread it's not a matter of if people cut, it's a matter of how many and what the bumrush is going to look like.

They should just start banding people as close to 6 as possible, that would alleviate a bunch of tension

Foothills' method of beer releases is one that has simply worked and worked well time and again. Sure, a drunk dude got arrested this year, but that was one of the few wrinkles in what is otherwise a very civil, well thought out method of releasing beer. If a brewery is planning to do an at-the-brewery, non-ticketed release, it's the local standard for how to do it. Granted, that's for BASC and not BAMC, but I don't think the method would need much adjustment to make it work for Westbrook.

Banding people before 6 AM defeats the purpose of telling people to NOT lineup before then.

Well, it sounds like the final decision was up to Morgan. And announcing it that early, means Westbrook can care less about the locals who support them year-round. Thanks a lot Edward and Morgan. Enjoy the sh!t show!!!

Disappointed that I can't make it in terms of trying the beer, not disappointed that I'll miss this chaos. Watching this thread just to see how it all goes. Best of luck to everyone, but especially the folks I know that will hopefully be landing bottles and sharing them with me :grinning:

Screw the wristbands. This should be done up Willy Wonka-style - 425 golden tickets wrapped around local artisanal chocolates mimicking NA Mexican Cake that are sold throughout the state/community. Stimulates the local economy, makes people go absolutely apeshit, and slightly decreases the chance of line cutters (people will line up at 100 stores vs a single brewery).

If I ever take the plunge to start my own brewery, I'd seriously consider this for my 1st limited release brew.

Do people realize that a lot of non-locals in GA and Alabama still support Westbrook by buying up cases of beer as well? You don't have to live in Charleston to buy Westbrook.

Happy to see a couple of people in here actually understand the 'real' issue at hand. Though, with the profiteering websites such as MBC, etc., this trend will not cease anytime soon.

Seriously though, seeing the remarks here, I'm not risking it. I'd love to score the bottles to try and to trade with, but a potential injury or death kinda defeats it all. Not to mention being out a night's sleep, a tank of gas, and a lot of headache for being #426 or higher in line.

Yeah, I realize that. I'm talking about locals who not only by their canned/bottled beer, but also stop by the brewery every week. And it's pretty obvious who's not worried about tomorrow's release, because they already have BA MC variants.

I don't pity the locals who will probably be able to enjoy all three variants on tap at different points. Not to mention the cherry mexican cake and all the other crazy variants that you guys got to enjoy. Sorry you can't have all the goodies to yourself Charleston.

Im sure its tasty but getting up early to wait in line at 6am for another BA beer seems crazy. So many good ones out and about now. Im sure it is very very good but wow... To each there own. Good luck and be safe. (BTW had a great time at the brewery Midsummer, picked up some Gose and Citrus Ninja, both very good. No lines or chaos just a good time at the bar.)

Don't you think "brewery only" release should be more for/about locals? Of course not, you're in GA.

I am pretty sure it all went to bottles. That said, the bottles often get shared around town.

-It's not about the beer... it's about the difference between market value and the price they are putting on the bottles. If they made 5-6 times as much and eliminated the "rare" there would be no madness.

This would be really cool. Make the "ticket" be a bottle cap with a special message on the underside. I know Westbrook cans, but it's an interesting idea for another time.

High chance of thunderstorms tomorrow morning folks. I know standing in the woods for delicious beer may sound enticing, but being near trees in a lightning storm is not the best way to go about it.
