Help Me Construct an Offer for Westly and Stenciled Pages

    I'm interested in trading for a SARA Westly and Stenciled Pages. I read the thread about their beer club allocations and I seem to remember each member received 3 Westly and 4 Stenciled Pages (I may be wrong about this). I would appreciate any information someone with details about bottles counts and limits could provide. I'm hoping more information will help me construct and offer to get this done. I'm guessing since only early bottle releases of the de garde match the rarity that I'll have to money whip this one and go well over $4$ with limited beer. Most of the de Garde bottles were limit 6. So, what's it going to take? 10 bottles of bu's? $100 of limited beer? I'm open to any constructive feedback.

    You may want to correct that to Westly, not Westy. Last I heard, it was 1/pp for their club members only. There was a trade offering up BVDL for Westy 1:1. I don't know about Stencil and don't know much about de Garde demands so hope someone can help you out. While it's tough, I feel you should have the ammo for them.

    Maybe a little too late since it's past 15 minutes. @blue-dream should be able to correct both title and first sentence, although people should know what you meant anyway by this point. :slight_smile:

    I've put up a few ISO's for Westly, with a large assortment of Jester King fruited (MvB, CdT, Fen Tao, Atrial, Nocturn & more) offered up. So far I've gotten crickets.

    It's more a matter of finding an owner willing to trade it, I suspect a very small number of those club members are active BA traders.

    as someone who has Westly and Stenciled Pages coming from a trade partner, i'll chime in here. as far as i know, it was two bottles of Westly and two or four bottles of Stenciled Pages for each club member. my guy was able to buy a bottle of Westly from another member for $100 and he offered to sell it to me for $50 because it's so good that he didn't want to give up either of his two and he was willing to take a $50 hit just to keep things square with our regular trades.

    that said, i don't think there's any variety of bottles i would consider trading both Sante bottles for. Westly is rumored to be ungodly good and i was told Stenciled Pages is along the lines of BA Cellarman. having had both BA Cellarman and West Ashley multiple times makes it even harder to let go of bottles of supposedly better versions. quite honestly, it would take multiple stupid good bottles to even get me to consider trading them, like C&C La Folie + Chez Monus + KBBS + Hommage + VSB stupid. and it would take something like that for me personally just because the bottle count is so low for the SARAs that i most likely wouldn't have a chance to try them otherwise.

    all that aside, just throw a 12-shipper of your best De Garde stuff at it and see what happens.

    Thanks for the info @box_social . I'm a little discouraged now though, haha. I may have an interested party but it would require a 3L so I'm not sure I'm all that interested in going that deep for one.

    You should just let me know when you're going to open them and I'll find a reason to come to PDX again.

    1 bottle of Westly came with the club with the option to buy another bottle, 1 bottle of Stenciled Pages came with the Club with the option to buy 2 more bottles

    Do the 3L. How is that deeper than 12 bottles? 3L = 4 bottles ... maybe double for the "Oh wow - look at the size of his bottle" factor. 3Ls auctioned at Brews for New Avenues in the $200ish range (one lower, $175, and 2 higher, $225 and $275 if I'm not mistaken). So if monetary equivalence is $100 a bottle you're looking at a fair offer if a 3L gets you 2.

    If you're looking at 12 bottles of other De Garde, monetary equivalence is going to be $108 - $172 at the $9 or $14 bottle price, likely somewhere in the middle. And that's your cost - 3L cost was lower.

    Seems like a no-brainer here; one big ass bottle gets you the 2 uber-rare bottles you want and it's 25% - 50% cheaper (though shipping may be a bit more).

    SARA's Cellar member here. 8200sd is correct. We each received 1 bottle of Westly with the option to buy 1 more (so 2 total) and received 1 bottle of Stenciled pages with the option to buy 2 more (so 3 total).

    FWIW - I had this offer open for about a day and received a ton of offers. Wound up taking an Armand 4 Seasons set for a Westly, West Ashley, & Appreciation.
