depends the sour but I recommend mixing it up with some cheese in between pints it helps balance out the acid

Yes, I find them to be somewhat of a palate cleanser :sunglasses:

Oh yeah, I've never gotten heartburn from a sour either. I was just talking about having heartburn in general because I at one time, like ArkansasTraveller, thought I was impervious to it and then it finally started happening to me.

I drink Sour 750s solo pretty regularly.

ATG's Brettish Bulldog 750 goes down easy, all by your lonesome!

I'd imagine your diet is a healthy one. No frozen dinners, no fast food, no "soft" drinks.
Stick to the foods your ancestors consumed from the farms of their own and their neighbors...
You'll never have heartburn; or have much sickness at all, for that matter.

I brought a bottle of Tart of Darkness to a friend's house a few months ago. Evryone tried a sip, but it was too sour for everyone, with exception of one friend and I. We split the bottle. I could have probably drank the entire thing myself if I had to, granted it woukd have taken a while. My two favorite tastes are bitter and sour.

Prefer to split it halfway w a friend but if Im just drinking it myself I find rich heavy foods usually counterbalance the palate fatigue.

How can you NOT handle a solo 750?

I do it most of the time I have a sour bomber. Only a few of my beer friends like sours so I usually have to kill a bomber myself. Most recently I've killed a Bruery Hottenroth (with a severely burned roof of the mouth, not the best idea) and an O'so Winds of Change.

I'm just starting to get into sours and the thought of drinking a full bomber on my own is a little daunting. I'm sure there are some out there that I could do, others I know would be far too punishing.

Agreed, but I will say that I puked after eating pizza then drinking strong sours...something about that combo. Then again I may have just had a stomach bug as I've never puked off them other than that.

I've consumed a whole 750mL of Hottenroth on multiple occasions.

I think heartburn is something people generally grow into, though he may or may not ever get it. I'm 42 and have only had it about 5 times total, but boy did it SUCK! In most cases eggplant has been the culprit (with help from alcohol). Specifically, Whole Foods Baba ghanoush on a couple of occasions. Since I don't think I had it until my 30s, ask me if it's become a regular occurrence in 20 years.
