Cue the people claiming they got lazy and dumped FBS and Rubeaus together, slapped a backstage label on it, and went back to counting money.........

I am intrigued! Sounds like a nice combo.

Hoping the mouthfeel is dry from the chocolate....letting the berries provide the juiciness. Just my initial thought.

I was wondering when we were going to hear something since there was supposed to be at least one more release this year.

I'll be picking this one up. I'm guessing ~December, just based on the last Backstage Series of the last 2 years previously, landing in December.

I was up at Founders mid-July this year and they had a Chocolate Raspberry Stout on tap as one of their pilot brews. If it's anything like that (this was 8.3% abv so close to this label), it's going to be absolutely fantastic.

I think this year's breakfast stout is awesome.. Can't wait for this.. I'd like to try this and the new holland dragons milk reserve with raspberries back to back.

Agreed. Two things I'm way over, are 'lets see how high we can get the ABV!!! (Ahem Avery)' and 'let's see how many IBUs we can get into an IPA/IIPA/etc'.

Stout wish raspberries doesn't sound good?? Of anyone, Founders will be able to pull this off, I have no doubt. Not sure what people are wanting them to brew??? I just have a feeling this will be another Backstage release I won't see. Even if you don't think it will be good, there will be plenty of people to eat this right up.

Cool, so nothing barrel aged from them for the backstage releases this year. Just a small distribution porter, mediocre IPL, and this.

    Keep pushing that All Day

We plan to introduce Big Lushious, a chocolate raspberry stout, this December to mark the eleventh installment in our Backstage Series. Like all of our Backstage Series beers, Big Lushious will be sold in 750mL bottles, with a suggested retail price of $16.99 per bottle.
[IMG]Big Lushious is a deep, rich stout that’s packed with flavor: roasted malts, all-natural dark chocolate, a subtle suggestion of burnt coffee grounds and a kiss of tart raspberries. At 7.8% ABV, it’s big, sumptuous and extravagant, but also balanced.
“We thought Big Lushious would make a great release for the holidays,” said Co-Founder and Vice President of Brand & Education Dave Engbers. “It’s a luxurious beer for us. It’s meant for bringing to parties and is perfect for sharing with friends and family after a feast.”
Big Lushious will be released in limited quantities across our distribution footprint beginning on Monday, December 1, and will be available at our taproom that same week. This will be our last Backstage Series release in 2014—look for more in 2015.

Yup. I'd MUCH rather be able to drink a cpl good 6% than 1 12%. It's bad enough all this stuff is coming in bombers, esp if you're the 1 person in the house who likes stouts.

You know what would be really good? If they made a stout, then aged it in maple syrup bourbon barrels. Somebody really should suggest that. </sarcasm>

Seriously, $17 for this sh*t?! WTF Founders?

If its not barrel aged, people are going to bitch and moan. This sounds fantastic to me.

I'll just look for it on draft - $17 is a pretty absurd price.

Sounds delicious, but $17 is too high. This should be $12-$13 max.
