Dark Penance came off as a hop bomb to me.

I can't wait for the harvest Ale. I love that beer! In my opinion, one of the best beer Founders has to offer

Has anyone in Ohio picked up Breakfast Stout yet? I'm in Toledo and haven't seen anything.

Went through two 4pks of this year's breakfast stout over the weekend, almost forgot just how good it is. Huge coffee/chocolate flavors and I didn't get any heat whatsoever. Stout season has begun and all is well.

I found some right up in Bedford at the Liquor Cabinet, I haven't seen any in Toledo itself though.

Have a case of each lined up. This should take care of a good chunk of my beer consumption for the upcoming month or so. Wish Mosaic Promise had made it out here.

Cracked my first FBS last night (9/1 bottle date I think) and it tasted just a bit thinner and lost a step in the mouth feel. All the flavors are there. Carbonation seemed slightly higher then I remember as well. Anyone agree with me or am I crazy?

I drank ~2 cases of FBS last year.

I thought it was meh as well. Nice idea, but not a great flavor.

Has Harvest Ale hit shelves anywhere yet? I've never tried this beer but looking forward to it.

I wouldn't expect it for another week at least. Last year it was bottled 10/2, and I think it first started appearing most places around their distro like 10 days later. And not around SE Michigan until like 11/1...not that I'm still salty about that or anything...

(Seriously though, Rave needs to step their game up, as this has been happening repeatedly. I don't mind it so much when it's a stout or something, but a Wet-Hopped IPA? An extra [and inexplicable] 3 weeks can absolutely make a difference.)

I just called the Founders Brewery Deli / Taproom and I was told the Harvest Ale will be $2.50 a bottle or $10 a 4 pack with no limit. Keep in mind it will probably be more expensive in other markets because of retail and distribution.
