Yes, communal contributions will take care of the financial hit; I just meant that if he can't do a ground shipment, it's going to cost a lot more for an express shipment and you're right, he may get hit pretty hard.

That's why I commented earlier that we might not weight the amount in the favor of the lower 48 resident after all, but we'll see what $ amount actually comes in, take a look at actual expected shipping cost (I'll be in touch with the two people in question) and go from there.

And as I mentioned, if donations exceed need, the extra amount will magically turn into beer, so no worries about me pretending I'm in charge of FEMA and pocketing half the money.

Got an email from UPS saying I'm receiving a package tomorrow and an adult needs to sign for it; was starting to get really happy. Then noticed that its from one of my wine shippers

 

Thank you @mkhartnett for the Surly box! I've literally never seen such a small box for shipping beer, let alone four of them! I guess you have a bit more leeway when they're cans..

 

Sixterhood trip #2....

To continue on my previous hint....

After 5.5 years in my target's state I moved to the state immediately to the right and lived there for many years before moving to Texas. Loved living there (except for the cold winters) and I still root for that state's NFL and NBA teams.

By pure coincidence, this week I'm receiving a LICC, also "applied to" the sixterhood, and ordered printer cartridges and a patio table cover online. I got SO excited when I saw something got delivered today.... $#)(&#@(*&&@# printer... but I already knew I wasn't getting the sixterhood

I have a suspicion that I might not be the only one who figured out your target -- I think he might know too.

There are a few in this BIF that 'should' know by association and others, like yourself, that will take the time to research. But so far there is only 1 slight clue that he has figured it out.

 

Pardon my ignorance. I've read the first forty or so pages of the thread per suggestion as a newbie and I've followed since page 75 religiously (a guy does have to work) but i still have no clue what LICC stands for (except another excuse to send and receive delicious beer). Could someone enlighten me? Thanks!

IL folks - how available is Allagash? Seekabrew says it's limited. I'm putting together a box for someone in IL that said they 'love beers from Maine' ... Don't want to send something that's easy to grab.

I know that in Cook County, my Binny's has eight to ten different Allagash bottles on the shelf right now. I don't know how widespread their distribution is, or where your buddy lives, but by me, Allagash is readily accessible.

 

It's also possible he might mean Maine Brewing Company. That's an important distinction -- MBC is one of my favorite breweries, while I don't like Allagash at all. And if that's the case, and you can't get it, I can help you out with shopping and shipping.

 

Once you posted your actual LIF, I forgot having even said this, but I just thought it was kinda funny that it worked out that way after all.
