The Town of Stowe has approved all permits on the municipal level. The District 5 Vermont State Environmental Commission will issue their written decision and conditions very soon; all we can say for now now is that the proceedings went well and the outcome appears favorable. Due process... part of the job.

This is probably in the thread already, if so I apologize...but where is this place going to be in Stowe? Say in relation to The Crop or whatever?

Cottage Club Road, opposite the cemetery and just before Sunset Grille as you enter from the Mountain Road. See post earlier in thread for photo by @ElGallo .

It will be right across from the Stowe Motel very near corner of Cottage Club and Mountain road. The Crop and Piecasso are about 500 to 600 feet down the road from Cottage Club. If you use Google maps satellite view and search for Cottage Club Road, you can see very clearly the big open field next to the Stoweflake. That is the location. You can also see Piecasso marked on the map and the Crop is the next building just East of it.

Very cool, thank you. A family member has a time share condo right in that neighborhood at the Village Green that my wife and I have made an annual fall vacation spot. Going back in a couple weeks, and I can't wait. Stowe (and Vermont in general) is amazing. Glad to see that the new place is going to be right down the street from there as long as all goes well!!

After covering countless Development Review Board Meetings for 3 local towns in the last 6 years, I can tell you the 30-day appeal period is when the "11th-hour NIMBYS" who never attended any hearings often suddenly decide to make an appearance - most often neighbors and abutters. And state law allows them to. However, I believe the town of Stowe is so firmly behind this project, and the Kimmichs have made so many friends as residents of the town, that things will go forward as planned. That is certainly the hope of many. Godspeed to the Kimmich's, and hoping for clear sailing ahead.

Honestly I don't see why they didn't put the brewery in a less hot button area- the state is full of economic backwaters and towns with former industries that could use a little help. They probably could buy a thousand acres in the right place and open whatever they want.

Getting the tourist dollar is a big plus. The BA crowd would go to the middle of nowhere and stand in line for beer. :grimacing: A good supply of tourist's that would not go to that much trouble will help keep the lights on. Not that the Alchemist would need help with that.

Drive up 100 one day and see all the areas that need attention (half of the state). On the other hand Stowe is a nice area but hardly a mecca for out of staters. They were willing to settle for Waterbury (a nice town, but with issues)- they could have settled for almost anywhere- why pick Stowe of all places and have to argue with your potential neighbors...again.

The is no decision until the written decision from the state is received. The way the State of Vermont works don't hold your breath.

The location will be very helpful to the new Trappe facility being built. You can see the new place from the disc golf course and it's a huge. Crop's Idletyme double IPA is way under the radar. Stowe beverage is the best beer spot in VT, lawsons or not. Asked for aged stone IRS on Sat and got 2012s on request. Going to be an awesome beer spot.

Pretty much this. A no-brainer re: quality of life. And Stowe is craving some of that Waterbury beer-destination love aka dollars.

I'm not complaining (other then it's going to be another 20 minutes from my house). I am just saying that if they had problems in Waterbury, the Stowe area can be potentially worse with the NIMBY attitude- as you all know and discussed. The state is filled with economic backwaters that would kowtow to their every wish. That said, they run a wonderful business and can't wait to see and make purchases at the new facility.
