Totally agree with Sour in the Rye! Bruery has some truly amazingly sour beers. As for favorites... pretty much anything sour from Russian River, Jolly Pumpkin or any great Gueuze. I do love the Bruery beers but they tend to be more sour than complex with most of their stuff but I still dig 'em.

Hanssen's Scarenbecca Kriek is the most sour beer I've ever had, could barely finish the taster. Gose Gone Wild and Tartare are both close behind.

Most sour beer I've ever had, hands down was Upland Raspberry I had this past Friday with my fiancé. Best sour to date I'd ever had is probably NG Wild Peach (haven't had that many sours lol).

I nominate Green Monster from Deschutes, which I call the most intensely sweet and sour beer I've ever tasted.

I'm a lambichead and love me a good sour, but Wakefield Dragonfruit Berliner was just too much. It is so insanely sour that you can feel the acid in your teeth. Far and away the most intensely sour beer I've had, and I've had a few.

Also agree with others that Sour in the Rye was sour and quite good (but how sour I don't recall). But I'd like to try Tartare against Allagash Coolship Resurgam that I have had more recently and is quite puckering to see which is more so.

Of the scores of sour beers I've had over the years, only two stood out head-and-shoulders above the rest in terms of tartness: Bear Republic Tartare and The Bruery's Oude Tart.

Upland cherry lambic may have been the most sour. 3F Schaerbeekse Kriek was pretty damn sour too.

Favorite is probably Lou Pepe Framboise

Gueuze Fond Tradition really caught me off guard last time having it. I can not remember it being as sour as it was. Still a great sour though.

Skimmed the first few pages, so I don't know if this one has been mentioned, but Local Option has a fantastic sour (Only available on draft as far as I know) know by its style--Kentucky Common. Pretty sour and definitely delicious. One of my favorite.

Interesting. I didn't really find Red Poppy that sour. I agree with you on Alamanac. All of their dogpatch sour and variants are pretty damn sour.
