Mud has been on tap all over the state in the last six months, which is crazy. The supply just kicked at HopCat EL and they were doing growler fills.

Surprise bottle predictions: Devil in Mrs. Jones (surprise, we still have some)

I would love to see the sour pumpkin. Best beer last fall festival. But why keep it a secret?
Def won't be any of the typical Winter beers.

Anyone remember how much the other mixed packs released this year were?

$30 for all the recent 4 packs. But for 4D and Solstice Stout. Not pale ales.

Pretty sure the summer solstice had 2 Solstice Stout and 2 4D for $30??? Can;t remember the the winter solstice.

Either way, finding this pricing a bit ridiculous. Also.....very curious as to what the "mystery" 2 bottles were supposed to be before they just threw in another TRIPA and Sillier

Winter Solstice was priced by the bottle, rather than by the six-pack. But I think it was something like:

    2013 BBBW: $7
    2013 BB4D: $7
    2012 BB4D: $8
    Forbidden IPA: $6

So this is steep compared to the BB offerings, but on the other hand, it's consistent with their previous pricing for PAs, judging by the Forbidden here. Personally I'd take Forbidden over TRIPA and SS any day, though.

Mud/2 yr Irish Whiskey six pack was $37 OTD, right? Their bottle releases are always pretty steep, but all of their beer is steep, so this seems to be in keeping.

I'd pay $6-7 for one bottle of TRIPA, sure.

They gotta be high....when or if they distro they better lower their prices. A 36$ 6 pack of DripA is going to sit for ever. Instead of getting this six pack I could get like 45 all days , almost a case of 2 hearted. A case + a few bottles of founders mosaic promise....

Yeah, these should be $20, even $25 would be a stretch. Somebody needs to get a pic of anyone who buys 2-6packs so we can make a good meme out of it. Better yet I'd love see or even hear about anyone double dipping on this.

Agreed 100%, I honestly don't get the thought process. These prices in a store would get laughed at by even the most desperate beer nerd.

Kuhnhenn Brewing Co.Both of these beers are ridiculously high-gravity which means a much longer aging time, hence taking up valuable real estate and backing up the regular production schedule. Simcoe Sillier had to rest for 3 months, while TRIPA rested just over 2. Barrel-aging does not alone justify a high price-point. Many of you have also seen how we bottle our beer. Bottling requires a minimum of 6 people, packaging an average of 8 bottles per minute. Labor cost heavily factors into pricing as well. Compared to what went into making these amazing beers that our customers ask for, our margins on these are not what you consider "gouging."
Economy of scale in our new production facility will allow us to produce more product more efficiently at a lower price for all.
At the end of the day, it's just beer. Name calling doesn't fix anything.
      So, let's have a beer...

I paid $36 for 4 two hearted at the tigers game Tuesday. Its all relative. Starting to think some folks on this site never buy beers outside of home. Waaah its too expensive.

I sent Kuhnhenn a message today asking for more info on the "surprises". Their response from around 4:30 p.m.:

"We will be tapping a special firkin tomorrow - we just haven't decided which one for sure will be going on."

I wouldn't be getting my hopes up for a surprise bottle release as well!
