Also, many brands don't even use potatoes. It's made from grain.

Seems to me you'd be pretty safe staying with hoppy beers like IPAs and lighter beers like Pilsners, Kolschs, etc. My guess is when potatoes or sweet potatoes are used at all, it would be in heavier and slightly sweetish/malt forward beers like stouts, brown ales, etc

But since breweries are always coming out with new beers, it's not going to do much good to simply ask what beers have those ingredients in them. You're going to have to engage in due diligence and research them yourself, as others have said.

I have a severe allergy to potatoes (anaphylaxis). Last year at a craft brew fest I was about to drink a sample when I overheard the brewer say it was brewed with potatoes. Now I feel I have to double check every beer I have now by emailing or calling the brewery and await a response...or google it and chance it. You can imagine how annoying this is!

Anyway, I've come up w some beers containing potato I've found. Can you guys add any I'm missing? They all seem to name it besides the Autumn Maple.

    • Fullsteam Carver Sweet Potato Beer
    • The Bruery, Autumn Maple
    • Lazy Magnolia Brewing Company, Jefferson Stout
    • Bent River Brewing Company, Sweet Potato Ale
    • Epic Brewing Company, Glutenator
    • Indeed Brewing Company, Sweet Yamma Jamma
    • Piney River Brewing Company, Sweet Potato Ale
    • Salty Nut Brewery, Sweet Potato Ale
    • Blind Bat Brewery, Long Island Potato Stout
    • Blackbeerd-barrel Aged Imperial Sweet Potato Stout - New Holland Brewing Company

Sweet potatoes and Potatoes are two very different vegetables. An allergy to one does not mean you are allergic to the other.
if your allergy is to potatoes I can't imagine there are many beers that will give you a problem.

Your friends must enjoy eating with you. They don't need to worry about you stealing their fries.

I was completely unaware that such a thing existed. Something new to add to the "I gotta try" list!

This. Just in case butternut squash is part of the problem, Saucony Creek Maple Mistress is made with them; it's a local PA brewery, but a damn tasty beer so it might travel a bit.

I think it's pretty safe to say that any beer made with potatoes will clearly tell you on the label.

Autumn maple is actually made with yams, not sure if that is part of your allergy or not (as they aren't potatoes).

Hey guys I should have added, I'm also allergic to sweet potatoes and Yams, despite them being slightly different (I think it's a root vegetable allergy).

Thanks for all the input so far guys, I really, really appreciate it!!!

Please keep them coming if you guys think of anything else.

This thread brings up some déjà vu. Wasn't this exact topic asked about 9 months ago?
