Jester King Aurelian Lure Blend 2

I'd say so. One of the best aromas of any beer I've encountered. I picked up a lot of apricot on the taste, too.

 

If it's this good on tap, I will not trade any bottles away.

Definitely more fruit than Fen Tao, IMO... so juicy.

Agreed, completely, I liked the Fen Tao a lot, but I thought the Aurelian was amazing.

I'm curious as well. I got there about the same time as the Friday when Fen Tao was released, 6:00ish and it wasn't comparable, many more people for Fen Tao. The tap line was longer by a wide margin, hahaha. Maybe it was my imagination.

 

Much smoother than the Fen Tao release. Very impressive on draft. I agree more fruit than Fen Tao. Incredible on the nose.

Also, they had Snorkel glasses for sale again.

 

Good to see some you guys yesterday! I thought this batch was better than b1. Tons of fruit. Curious how it is out of the bottle.

 

Just fyi they had about 250 visitors yesterday by 730ish. Everything ran very nicely. Much much more fruit character than fen tao. I appreciate all the extra effort they put into making this release go smoothly as the whole nonsense for fen Tao was extremely sad to see

I believe they will be drawing penises on the left cheek to deter people trying to get around the 1 per person rule. Totally worth it if you ask me. Great beer!

 

Was out around 1:15 and there was only one person in front of me to get bottles. Seemed like the great relaxed atmosphere we all love about @jesterkingbeer!

 

First time trying this and it's absolutely insane. Easily my favorite brew I've had from Jester King, which moves it into my all time top 5. So much apricot and funk, excited to see how different it is from the bottle.

 

That's how it usually is. People just went apeshit for Fen Tao.

 

Got there around 1:30. Walked right up and got my bottle and got a red X on my wrist in sharpie. No line. There was about a 5 minute wait for my AL pour. I really enjoyed this batch. Better than B1 and more fruit character to me. Not as tart either but still quite nice and mildly tart. Not as dry on the finish as some of the other fruited sours. Impressed with the amount of fruit. Great funky notes. Beautiful color. Served a bit too cold and really opened up when warmer. The extra line really is a great idea. I hope they stick with it. The entire time I was there, the merch tent had more of a line than the bottle tent.

When you say Merch tent and Bottle tent, do you mean there were three tents (Normal bottles, Merch, Aurelian) or two tents (Normal Bottles & Merch, Aurelian)? (Or maybe even Normal bottles+Aurelian, Merch)...

 

1 tent for normal bottles to-go/merch & 1 tent for Aurelian (and of course the outdoor serving tent). I was told Aurelian won't count toward the case discount since the tents are separate.

Sorry, I wasn't clear at all. Aurelian only tent and other bottles and merch tent. I liked that.

 

Planning on stopping in around 5:30 today if there will be still some left. Anyone have an idea if there will be?
