I am not shipping to Sara Palin's state but I did contribute to shipping costs to/from said state.

 

Besides bubblewrapping the heck out of it and/or peanuts or whatever, my first BIF I double boxed some stuff. Pack a box with padding etc, then stick it in a larger box with more padding. I also stick foam of some type around all the edges. But I am convinced that the single most important thing is to pack the box tight so stuff can't move internally.

 

To assist with elimination do any targets share a state border with their sender?

 

Sorry Mike -- I wanted to get them all out close together, so I was "prepping" all the notes. I got 34 of them out within about 20 minutes (there is apparently something equivalent to a spam filter that kept me from doing it more quickly).

 

This will probably get lost in the flood of hints starting to come in, but --

EVERYBODY SHOULD HAVE THEIR TARGET
I included all the info I had -- some people gave e-mails, some gave phones, some gave both, some gave neither

Just about everybody specified shirt size, about half gave a shirt vs. glassware preference

And most, but not all, folks provided likes and dislikes -- you can also check your target's profile and/or wants

If you need something that you don't have, I can obviously mediate and contact your target for you, but that shouldn't be necessary

And don't forget in addition to the beer we are including swag and a local treat.

 

Hint #1: Shipping West

 

Ha. Just razzing as I'm an impatient ahole.

 

I was about to say "No", but just double checked and the answer is yes -- there is one shared border. I could theoretically change that I suppose -- I will see if I can do an easy swap and if the sender wants to do so.

 

Hint #1 Josie and the Pussycats

 

I'm pumped about my target. Based on a quick survey of my targets preferred styles and wants his porch is going to get smashed with a combo or locals, wants and local wants. Can't wait.

 

I'm curious to see where this is going...

What was our shipping dates again? I'm looking to ship on 10/13 but I want to make sure that is in the window.

 

Hint 1: Shipping east.

 

I think that's fine -- we basically said "second half of October". I'm sure we will have one or two impatient shippers who go early.

And while we had a couple of newbies, everybody has either traded before and/or had somebody vouch for them, so I don't see any need for early shippers.

 

Agree on the newbie shipping early, while I respect that rule it isn't one of my favorites. If someone gets screwed by a sender we all know this group will rise to the occasion and make sure that porch is crushed.
