Took some IPA's away on our trip to Maui. Thoroughly enjoyed drinking all of them and considering an 8oz pour of Sculpin was $8.50 I was even more happy that I brought my own.

Not a great picture but it is a decent enough beer for the first day this year that said, 'yep Autumn is on the way'

Don't bother trying it until it warms up a bit... it changes (for the better) a LOT.

I really like black licorice, so I was expecting to love this beer. I like it but $3.99 for a single? Bleh..

This was actually pretty good. A brown ale I've never heard of before which has been sitting in my fridge. A nice, chilly fall morning was all I needed to open it. Very roasty with a lot of mocha-like flavors going on.

Having troubling loading it from my phone, so I guess I have to resort to google images.

Do you ever have a beer where you can tell that it is superbly made and of excellent quality, but you just aren't digging it in the moment? That's how this is. Great beer, but I just haven't gotten into pumpkin ales like I did last year.

As always, a beautiful pour and picture. What did you think of the stout? Personally felt it was OK, not outstanding. Reasonably priced and house guests during a recent cook out enjoyed it...a lot of it!

i mean compared to other stouts i can walk out the store for zactly $38 with a case under my arm, it's been pretty damn good to me. i guess, being a 4 something % milk stout, i had both feet on the ground before opening the first one & i've kept them firmly planted there since.

it's not earth shattering, it doesn't taste like it features high tier Kona bean & it's not a 2013 EIRS light either. once you get past any unrealistic expectations it is what it is. very ABLE. i.e. dependable, available, enjoyable, affordable. & most noticeable... it's a frequent morning guest on my table. :sunglasses:

I've been tempted to try this one, but haven't because of the black licorice notes. How prominent was the licorice?
