Just announced on FB and Instagram:

"Friends/loyal customers, we have a quick announcement to make. In order for our Ultimate Flight Night to be extra smooth with no delays, we will be closed until 5PM. #labw6 #labeerweek #beer #alhambra #pasadena #dtla #instabeer #beerstagram #snl #buhbye"

My wife and are paying a babysitter probably around $100 to watch our kid so we can go to this and now I'm worried this is going to turn into a shit show. Anyone have any suggestions for back-up plans in the area (besides Ohana's tasting room)?

    Thanks in advance.

Go eat at chengdu taste (though that can be a shit show on Saturday nights too) or Hui Tou Xiang? There isn't a ton else beer-wise in that immediate area, but you could always head up to Pasadena or back west to highland park or echo park.

There's alway matt Dennys or use tap hunter for some Pasadena locations

It turned out great. No shit show whatsoever. We got to Alhambra at about 4:15 so we went next door to Ohana and had a few tasters beforehand. Walked up to 38 Degrees at 4:55pm and gave them our name. Got in and seated at a table at about 5:05.

They had about 20 different flights to choose from. Some of the beers overlapped with beers in other flights, but that worked out really well. Our waiter was awesome--he kept checking on us every few minutes and kept our water glasses full. We shared a few flights and a couple appetizers. We also shared the Pork Schnitzel. We had some great beers but the schnitzel was the best thing we had all night, hands down, highly recommended.

Will be there again next year for sure.

their beer is definitely on the pricey side, but they have pretty good service there! They run a tight ship
