Awesome trade! Damn would love to try that DB Mexican cake. Sure you don't need another guy to come over and taste? Just kidding.... I could bring some three Floyd's though

I picked up my Cafe Royale's from Bistro, lucikly I got to Murhpys in time and grabbed 4 bottles of Lovers Greed. I used to shop at Throx all the time but their prices have pissed me off a lot lately.

Sounds like we need to setup a Winchester bottle share..Actually we have a semi bottle share thingy going on oct 11th at my buddies.

I've got about 8 guys in NC that I trade with on the regular, they keep me supplied with Hop Drop n Roll, I almost prefer it to Heady...call me crazy, 3 week old HDR in a tall boy, is HEAVEN to me, got a case 2 weeks ago, shipped 8 to a buddy in Chicago for 3F Perm Funeral and Cimmerian Sabertoothed Bezerker, new to bottling I think, and he also hooked me with a Dark Lord...wasn't expecting that, sent him September IPA of the month, Foothills, Cafe Royale, and a few other randoms, he said that HDR lived up to the hype as well.

Also have a buddy in Petaluma that shipped me a growler of Russian River Row 2, Hill 56, shit was so dank, haven't had it since Jan of 2013 at Russian River, also got a Blind Pig and It takes a lot of beer to make good wine, new session pale ale from RR, almost as good as Carton's Boat beer, Boat is the best session beer I've...

Long story short is, I've got some connections to some really good beers, and also have a shit ton in the cellar, so much so the wife is not happy...gonna be a good long stout season ahead.

My mechanic has also offered his place up for a bottle share/tasting, he's moving into a new shop on 522 in oct/nov, being built out and will have more space than anyone I know as far as getting people together. Sounds like a winner to me.

I just got some HDR in that was canned on 9/19, I cant wait to try it, I also just got some Carton boat in that I cant wait to try.

Had Pliny and Blind pig last week and they were amazing.

Im in for some sort of bottle share and got some decent bottles in the cellar Id be willing to bring out.

Let me talk to my mechanic and see if we can do it at his existing shop, he's open to it, but our schedules this summer didn't work...he's over by the airport, great mechanic if you need one...

Have a buddy coming to town next Thursday, he's got a Lawson's Sip of Sunshine for me, Pirate Bomb, BA Speedway, Viet speeday, Elder, and a few other things and he's going to go by Tired Hands to get a growler or 2 if there is something that he likes or wants to get to bring down. Had the 2nd anny from TH this summer, St. Twoer, one of the best beers I've had this year, so fruity and juicy and it was a cloudy hazy unfiltered KILLER beer.

This thread got way off topic but to bring it back home, I appreciate you folks starting it as it became my quest when I drove up to Richmond today. Total Wine at Midlothian has a few cases left at $19.99 a bottle but they are limiting it to one per person. Pricey, but this beer is worth every penny. I would be curious to see how it ages but I can't imagine that the delicate fruit flavors would get any better with time in the bottle - after all, it aged for 18 months in the barrel. If this came out of Jester King, there would be a shit storm going on in the trading forums for it.

    $19.99? WTF!
it's a $12-14 beer (wasn't aware of any fruit being in it...)

There isn't fruit in it but it was aged in wine barrels which add what I would call a Pinot Noir-like fruit aspect to the flavor profile.

FWIW, there were quite a few bottles left at Once Upon a Vine I was up in Richmond on Saturday, kinda wish now I had grabbed another bottle to age.

Which Once Upon A Vine, and how much did you drop on a bottle? Going there this weekend, and would love to pick up a bottle.

I don't think there's any left if he's referring to the Northside location (which is closer to Hardywood). There were three left about two weeks ago, but I didn't see any when I went in yesterday. It's my go to shop and I'll be dropping by tomorrow. Would be more than happy to grab you one if by chance there's one hidden.
