I see Big Sprang on their list of things up next. Sprang was hugely flavorful and aromatic for a smaller beer. Can't wait for an IPA strength (or bigger?) version.

 

Speed Mettle!! Can't wait to try that one.

Pedestrian question. Is there a stairway from Summer St down to A St? I'll be in town on Sat and might have time to pop over there, but would like to have my walking route from South station figured out.

 

I'm very curious about what differentiates Speed Mettle, Mettle, and Heavy Mettle. Needless to say, I'll be swinging by this week for growlers & hopefully some bottles.

I know Mettle is an IPA and Heavy Mettle in a DIPA. No idea of Speed Mettle. They just tweeted about it, but have not had time to investigate

Yes. Summer st bridges over A street and there is a staircase that you can walk down. There is also a walkway from summer st to congress on your left right after you cross over the water.

Anyone know if I can expect Mettle to still be available tomorrow? Can't make it down there today.

mettle is a DIPA as is speed mettle. the difference between mettle and heavy mettle is heavy mettle is double dry hopped. speed mettle is mettle with less time on the dry hop.

According to their Facebook post they had to stop bottle Mettle today because of issues with their bottling machine. They will be bottling more tomorrow.

 

hey all...sucks, but we had to cut it short on the bottling run of Mettle today. too many misfills, so wasting a ton of beer. 31 cases (12 750ml/case) on hand and we expect to get another 50 cases or so out of a run tomorrow, so if we run out tonight, more available tomorrow. Will send updates as we go tonight.

There's a good amount of Speed Mettle on for growler fills, given the limit of 1 gallon total per person. that's a single dry hopped version of Mettle, which gets double dry hopped.

Oh! and Heavy Mettle (not available currently) was a higher gravity version of Mettle (HM was 9.3% and M is 8.4%)...HM got about 30% more in the double dry hop than 'regular' Mettle.
