Don't even get me started on Small Batch. I was about the 6th guy in line, so ended up with the beers I wanted. They let the first four guys in and one after another as each person came out, which is fine. The 2nd or 3rd guy snuck out the back with 5 cases of beers. I don't fault Small Batch. It's their policy not to have limits. But this guy f*cked over the other 30 people waiting to come in. Dude, you better pray I never see your face at a beer release again. I will not be friendly.

Seriously??? I was chatting it up with them and they're all from Denver too apparently.

(I was #3 and guarantee you it wasn't me, I walked out front door with 8 beers)

There was a 1-Cantillon limit (not 1 ea.) and 1-per-type of Cascade, for the rest I don't believe limits were set, but still....

That was me. I followed the limits and didn't buy more than one of anything. I shop there all the time, and I'm more than familiar with their policies. I'd rather give Small Batch my money. Feel free to confront me anytime you wish.

Sounds like 5-cases may have been exaggerated then, that's a lot of 1 ea. beer

Whoa, I was in line too, it was like a crazy meetup where no one knew we were meeting up! (I was the guy in the suit/tie, since I had to take a break from work to head over).

    Two cases, and 3 six-packs.

I watched the cases being stacked by the front door. If I'm exaggerating it's by no more than a box. Another guy told me it was 5. Regardless, even the small batch guys just shook their heads when we asked. Nice move going out the back door too. Doesn't leave much room for interpretation. I was almost apologizing for my one case with 8 beers in it. I have no sympathy for taking advantage. Try using some effing restraint next time. No excuse. Never seen anything so egregious.

The Casey's were one each of the 3 batches.

I was catching a ride, Clayton suggested I go out the back. Like I said, that's where I shop.

Regardless the BA Abraxas was excellent.

Seems like Hops & Pie always finds a way to tap that one keg that no one else has.

I got a 4-pack of Rhinegeist Franz yesterday at Applejacks. It's pretty good stuff.

Man if there weren't 30 people waiting to get some of those beers, then so be it. I understand taking care of regular customers. Just seemed like no consideration for the other folks out there, many visiting from out of town. Bad taste. That is all. Maybe I went overboard with my first comment, but still a bad move in my mind.

I agree with you in principal, but most of the beers he snagged were still there, and I was towards the end of the line. Cantillon was obviously gone, as was the Sanctification and the Raspberry Cascade, but pretty much all else was still there, including the Casey. Did he buy a lot? Yeah, but they had a lot of most of it. I had the same reaction you did when I heard about all the cases, but seeing the pics made me change my mind.

Frankly I don't understand it. I never clean out a place of a certain beer. Even when small batch says no bottle limits, it still makes me uncomfortable. There are certain styles I like (IPAs, saisons, and sours) and I leave all the other stuff to folks who would appreciate it more. GABF is my Christmas. Sorry if I broke some unwritten rule about how much you can spend at a liquor store in one go. Maybe Small Batch just shouldn't have these massive releases. I'm there so often that I usually just buy a few bottles at a time.

Alright I'll shut up about it. It looked REALLY bad. Didn't seem necessary. But whatever. Maybe just wrong time to load up on shelf beer.

Anyway thank you Small Batch for allowing me to try Cascade for the first time.

Also I would have missed the BA Abraxas otherwise. Small Batch rocks.

I'll find you there and share a beer with you. I shouldn't have flown off and apologize.
