Yep. 12% cap. There have been a few attempts to raise the cap (or eliminate?) recently, but no legislative victory yet.
This also means no BCBS, no 120 Minute, etc. In related news, ISO BCBS.

Yup... It's better than it was back in '02 when it was still 6%, but we miss out on a lot with it being just 12%. Great example is Not the Stoic. 1% point.... How would that possibly matter. Hence why when I'm in other States the first thing I look for are higher ABV beers that I can't get in Ohio.

Looking forward to Chicago in 2 weeks. :-)

I might be able to help you out with that potentially.

Finally, a good reason to live in California besides the weather!

I hate the weather here. Give me a season, once in a while.

I thought it was decent (apparently I had a rather median opinion, slightly ahead of average for it)

It's everywhere here in N. E. Ohio. Have seen 3 places in Lakewood just in the last week with it sitting on the shelves. All have been from the second batch to hit here, the Drink After June 2015.

That's the batch I got. What was the first batch's drink after date?

I have at least 2 different places where I can acquire a full case of this. I'd have to check on prices, however.

Ok so an update. just had it back to back with XXV and well... this years was a pale comparison in my opinion granted I realize it was a year of age but I age plenty of beer this isn't anything to with age so much as overall flavor, body, and god the barrel came through so much more in the XXV this years has lost some points in my mind hopefully next years will be different ( still cellaring one of the XXVI just because)

Ive got one of these in my basement. Going to wait till i host my next tasting to crack it open. My first tasting mainly IPAs, so i think it would be cool if i kept the next one to mostly porters and stouts. This one will be one of the highlights i hope.

To my fellow Pennsylvanians: where do you guys find Deschutes. I'm from the Lehigh Valley area, so if you know any places near there and feel like sharing that wisdom, it would be much appreciated. I only tried them during a trip to Wisconsin earlier this year, and I find myself missing some of their brews.

Not sure about the Valley, but Philly has it EVERYWHERE. Not just XXVI, but other 22oz bombers as well. Price is on the higher side from experience; expect around 26-32 for XXVI

Also means no Stone Brewery so I bet they are thinking hard about modifying the laws to raise the cap and try and bring the brewery in.

Thought this became much tastier once warmer than cellar temperature...
