Ah, ok. Yeah, it's like you can't say in one post you're spreading it out for two weeks then in another that it won't last that long. Maybe the deluge of people on Wednesday forced them to sell more than they wanted to (again, get a job people!) or something, but still make up your damn minds. I'm not sure it's even worth chancing this weekend now. I'm not trying to wake up at 6 AM to wait in line for 3 hours for them to open.

I read the first FB post and assumed that they were planning to stagger the totals each day, to make it last for 2 weeks? ie 50 cases for the weekends and 10-20 for weekdays?

That makes sense. Maybe he's just saying the allotment is increasing for a few days... but then it's odd that he added, "it definitely won't last until next weekend."

Sorry for the misinformation on me end. I was going off the website - it must not be accurate. Thanks.

Ugh. This new information is maddening because every employee there on Wednesday couldn't emphasize enough that it was 50 cases per day for 14 days.

I wonder if any of this mess is due to Vinnie and Natalie being off at GABF and leaving the reigns in the hands of underlings? That said, RR bottle releases have been getting progressively worse-run for a couple of years...

I dunno...I went on the weekend for FfaC and Beatification last year and it was fine. A line formed and if people were just getting bottles they went to the counter and others got tables or waited for one. Easy peezy lemon squeezy.

I don't think the Beat release was 'fine' at all. I got there at 4.30am and was exactly 30th in line. When they opened at 9am, I was about 60th. Line cutting has always been endemic at their releases because, until now, they've refused to implement wristbands or tickets. I also saw several people at the Beat release buy two cases because their hands weren't stamped inside.
Also, the (admittedly lovely) middle aged woman they had manning the (solitary!!!) till inside on the bottle line looked like she'd never had any retail experience in her life. She semed completely unaware of the need for urgency due to the massive line outside. It took her well over 5 minutes to sell me one case- extrapolate that out for the several hundred people waiting in line and you see why people had to wait 5+ hours to get served...
What's so frustrating is, all these problems are so easily solvable with a couple more checkouts and a wristband system- eliminates line cutting and then, if you cut off the wristband when people buy their bottles, also eliminates any shenanigans inside.

4:30? Sweet feathery Jesus. What day? On Sunday, there wasn't even a real "line" until like 9:30 AM.

Personally I agree their releases lack any sort of organization. I have to say beer releases in general where you are required to take a day off of work and/or line up at 4:30 am are really poorly done. The ones where there is a lottery system and only those who purchase can pick up and they give you X amount of days really work well in my opinion.

This was the first day. It was the only day I could make it and I also had commitments later in the day which meant I couldn't afford to be stuck waiting for hours in line after they opened.

I'm 100% anti lottery because I never win any random game-of-chance type thing like that ever. Seriously. I think the only time I've even won a game of BINGO was at a bar with only 5 other people playing. I think Alesmith's release plan is pretty great, OTOH.

Lol. I was there are around 3-4am that day (night?) and since there was only 20-30 people in line I decided to take a nap in the car. Woke up around 8-9am and there were hundreds of people.

I still got my case and a pour and I was happy, but yeah, waiting in that line after 7h drive and 4h sleep in the car was nowhere near nice.

Anyone know what time they sold out today and how the lines were? I imagine tomorrow and Sunday will look like what Wednesday looked like or worse.

Sorry if that came off badly. I'm more surprised there were 30 people in line at that time.

    No problem

It was pretty crazy looking back on it! It was cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey although the time went pretty fast and we met some cool people in line.

I got there at 9:40am this morning and there was about 20 people at most in line. The line didn't even past the fountain till about 10:40am. People got stamped on their hands for buying the framboise but I didn't get stamp by the guy. I was in at 11:10am, drank a pour of the framboise and was out by 11:20am.

In line at 7:30am with just five people ahead of me, seems like the madness has died down.
