The wife loved it... I liked it... great flavors, nice and clean (I mean, c'mon it's Stone)... I personally prefer the bigger stouts, and they do some great versions of those too. That's why I bought a few of these for the wife! I would rank it high in the style, and personally not compare it to something twice as big.

I thought it got the job done quite well. Smooth body, a hint of coffee bite, some chocolate and a bit of toffee sweetness. Simple, clean, and 4.2% won't leave you feeling awful if you have one or two with weekend brunch or as a nightcap.

There were cases of this at two of the three distributors I went to in SE PA today. I bought their cases of Xocoveza Mocha Stout instead, however.

I was interested in this when I first heard about it this spring, but now its October and I still haven't seen it here in Virginia. Real stouts are coming out, I'm officially no longer interested. It would have been a great summer beer.

I heard the VA distributors are sitting on it until Stone Saison is all gone.. Not sure if that's true though.

It was fairly well done would of liked it better if it was about 12% and thrown in a bourbon barrel for a year MUWHAHAHA :stuck_out_tongue:

Good but not impressive. I would rather drink a pipeline porter any day.

for how sessionable this is I think it's worth buying, I enjoy the flavors they have packed into this smaller stout, cuz I don't if anyone can get any more flavor than this into a stout as light as this

It was not bad but at $10+ a six pack I don't think I will buy this at all. Much better bang for the buck out there in both flavor and body for less.

This just now FINALLY showed up in Virginia. Too late, way too many other delicious stouts to drink this time of the year.

Agreed. I bought a single of it. Nothing to call home about.

Gave it another shot. Still don't like it. Preferred. Gansett's Autocrat to be honest

Seeing this thread come up again reminds me that I'm kinda angry about this beer. I want to say "it's total garbage" but that'd be disingenuous. What I really should be saying is THIS BEER IS SO MEDIOCRE
I think everyone was hoping that Stone Coffee Milk Stout was going to taste like how Xocoveza actually tasted

Had this on tap just a few days ago at Country Boy Brewing in Lexington KY. It's not earth-shattering, but quite good and had a lot of flavor for such a low ABV.

It doesn't have the proper amount of body in my opinion.

Weak coffee taste, really thin, waste of $11.99 plus tax. I tell myself no more overpriced stone and I did it for a whole till this showed up. I am done with stone for now. Too much $ and not so great beer. IPA is good but not for the price of $42+ a case

    Enjoy

Decent session stout. Not sure how much body can be expected at 4.2% or whatever it is.

Had a 2011 RIS a few days ago that was incredible. So much dark fruitiness.

Not really. I was hoping for it to taste like a 4.2% milk stout, and it did.

Exactly. Seems like everybody thought this was going to be low ABV Espresso RIS

I liked it. I went through 6 like Grant went through Richmond. My only complaint is that the carbonation completely disappeared about 60 seconds after pouring into a glass. That bugged me a little. Anyway, I like 'Gansett Autocrat more.
