    Hey guys,

These are a few beers that I have a lot of interest in and therefore looking for some sort of value each one has. I have some questions if anyone has helpful advice or has tried any of the above.

Cable Car - Vintages having different value? I have heard 09 being great.. How do others stack up/taste/trade

T25 - looking for more information on the release of this beer and around what it trades for, also opinions, how does it taste! I really like AWA blends like Monk's/Allagash's Broken Elevator, so pretty interested here.

Blabaer - Here I am really curious about knowing how a 375 vs 750 trades and difficulty requiring both. Is 375 about 1/2 what it takes to get a 750? Also interested in tastes of previous vintages. I understand '14 came out recently, but have heard '13 being least favorable to those who have had other vintages.

OVG 08 - This one I have and I am looking for value of both 375s & 750s

Cheers and thank you to any help in advance,
    Isaac

Interested in hearing more about OGV 08 as well.

My contribution: T25's drinking great, had it a few months ago. I think it trades on the level of DDG b2, as a reference point.

Depends on the person I guess, but I wouldnt say half, maybe 3/4. 14 is the newest but it was a SUPER small batch this year.

FWIW, I traded a CD7 and 2 CD6's for a Cable Car '12 about 9 months ago. I'm sure the older ones trade a lot higher.

I traded a DB Huna for this, although I think I overpaid by quite a bit. I see this get offered a lot lately for a lot less.

Agree with @Mag00n. 375ml takes about 60% to 75% of what a 750ml takes. Your best bet on these is generally an overseas trade with BA stouts, stuff they are interested in and can't get over there.

So in the end seems like mine as well just to go all out for a 750. I had a feeling international may have been the way to go, but I feel that may be a little over my head at this time. I do understand that it may require "less" because international, where as trading with some in the lower 48 who already may have went international to begin with.

Thoughts on DB Mexican Cake x 2 for a CC?
Nice plus on my side to get something done?

Really? DB Huna is overpaying for T25? Skeptical, but I suppose I don't know. Perhaps it's that "stout inflation" but seems like a great deal to me.

It may be better just to fly out to SD and hit Toronado for a bottle in-house. It would be a part of a bigger beer trip and donkey show Tiajuana, of course :grinning:

Yeah I agree it's the way to go. This year there were only 30 750ml bottles, though, and 70 375ml bottles this year. Will be hard to get. I ended up getting one (750ml) with about $180 (retail) in limited BA stouts, then another $100 in shipping.

Perhaps not? I actually set the deal up for a friend of mine, and I only feel guilty about it because I've seen so many offers since then with T25 for an easier to give up bottle. DB Huna is just so delicious.

As far as Blabaer goes, stay away from 2013. 2014 had a small bottle count release (100, I think). You really just need to find the right set of eyes or be willing to ship over the pond.

    I traded for 2012 Blabaer 750ml for 2x Hommage b2.

T25 is a really great AWA. Stay away from T20 as it has faded quite a bit. DBH is just stupid good, and it's value seems to continue to be skyrocketing.

I agree with @Stevedore 's comparison of T25 to DDG in value. DDG is probably tastier, but T25 is harder to find so it evens out in terms of trade value.

As far as Cable Car goes, I've had '07, '12 & '13 recently: 2009-2010 are said to be the most optimal at the moment tastewise but are VERY difficult to come by and have not been made available on many occasions. 2007 (b1) is pretty dead, I had it a month ago and it was not great so unless you feel the need to try them all, ignore that one. 2008 is still drinking pretty well (from what I hear) but I haven't opened mine yet. 2012 I had this month and was fantastic, miles better than 2013. The question I have is, was 2012 better because it was a year older or was it just better period? hard to say but likely the latter. I would pay about 20% more in trade value to get a 2012 instead of 2013 if I were you. 2013 is still very tasty, but it's not special enough to warrant the price tag. In terms of a made up system of trade units for comparison sake, here is how I would value everything:

    T25: 1.25
    DDG: 1.25
    CC13: 2.25
    CC12: 2.75
    CC10: 3.5
    CC09: 3.75
    CC08: 2.75
    CC07: 2.25

    @IPAIsaac, @jimmieal @joromiller Thoughts?

Yes maybe one of these days Al... I just went on a crazy beer trip, as you know, so maybe this one I get so I can share.

This is a great breakdown and very helpful. I appreciate the time and insight man thanks!

It's all about who you know. I got hooked up by a RTP. Stay away from Blabaer 2013.

with OGV, its hard to tell because no one ever trades them. those that own them know better. those that own them probably got them when they came out or a while back.

    RE: OGV

FWIW '07 OGV is much better than '08. I wouldn't trade for the '08 because it seems to trade for about the same as '07.

Good to know. I recently opened up a 07 and it was as excellent as it gets.
