Ah, nevermind. Forgot about the guild booth. I wonder what was entered across all MN breweries.

Congrats to Summit. EPA is a very good Pale Ale in the English style, and is (unfortunately, IMO), view by most members here as ho-hum and old hat. The MN craft beer scene owes a lot to this beer, and it remains a winner.

Congrats to Bent Paddle. 14° ESB is an excellent American-style ESB, the best Minnesota-brewed ESB (IMO, obviously) of those I have tried so far.

No slight intended to the other MN winners, but these are the only 2 on the list I have tried.

Summit did an ESB for an anniversary beer a while back and I thought that was very tasty. Hope they bring that back somtime.

I loved Summit's ESB. Hopefully they do bring that beer back.

I swear I saw a list somewhere that listed all the breweries that were competing at GABF but that weren't pouring. However, I can't find it now. I wanted to look to see whether Surly did indeed actually enter anything this year even though they weren't pouring.

Yeah, I'd love to see that list of MN entrants too.

I don't think they will release the entrants list because the basis of these competitions is good marketing for the winners. What would be the marketing message for those who don't win?

Steel Toe Wee Heavy is such a great beer. Well deserved gold medal. Steel Toe hasn't gotten a lot of buzz lately but it is one of the best MN breweries IMHO.

I love Steel Toe. I haven't had their Wee Heavy. Guess that must change!

If you find a list, post the link, as I'd be curious in seeing it as well.

From what I've heard, it's actually the opposite for TG - they went to GABF to pour their beers, but didn't enter any into the competition, which seems odd to me.

Summit EPA is where it all started for me. It was my gateway drug to the craft beer world. I don't drink it as much anymore simply because there are so many good beers out there now but it remains a classic that I'd drink any time.

Though not actually a Minnesota brewery, I can leave West O and be in Minnesota inside of 15 minutes. CocO Stout for the Gold. A growler shall follow me to Darkness Day!

The Summit anniversary beer was my favorite Summit beer. I really wish Summit would brew it again. It is somewhat similar to EPA but I'd love to have the anniversary beer return as a seasonal. Any chance of the anniversary recipe coming back Summit?

Their Wee Heavy is actually a two time gold medal winner this year! They also took gold in the Scotch Ale category at the World Beer Cup...
