Just saw that the next in the series is coming out soon. They are using a new experimental hop this year. Feel free to post sightings and thoughts here. I also added the new listing so please don't post reviews under the old one which was mosaic.

    Cheers!

You should request the old, fresh hop be retired which would make it much harder for people to rate the wrong beer. I cannot be the only one requesting to retire beers around here.

It can take a few months (sometimes a lot longer) to retire a beer, and it can feel like pulling teeth from chickens*. With the cadre of additional staffers added in the past year, it will hopefully be a quicker turnaround time. :sunglasses:

*When I added the "Lakemaid Beer" listing I forgot to retire it from August Schell, so there's 25 ratings since its been brewed at Stevens Point; Gah, I'm too busy keeping track of BIPs! :flushed:

Retiring a beer usually gets done relatively quickly. But getting beers merged or moved as in the Lakemaid scenario, forget about it (I will also submit a request). My understanding is that only the Bros can perform that action and "we have a large backlog and will get to it eventually." I also have been trying to get Wellingtons removed as a brewery ever since brewing was moved to Wenonah Brewing and no action has been taken yet. Also trying to get the two Bank Brewing listings merged. Don't know if it will ever happen. Is Big Hurt still in business? Can that be submitted as close?

Exciting about the Equinox beer. Loved the Mosaic, did not love the Citra, but will buy this in good faith.

The Citra didn't really work for me, but the Mosaic was more to my liking.

I was practically beside myself with the 30th Anniversary Schell's Pilsener sampler (did I really go through four cases?) and I'm always willing to give a new bottle (or tap) from Schell the benefit of the doubt -- even when I don't necessarily like the effect or character of the hop itself.

I'm looking forward to this, as the description on Equinox sounds awesome! Any other brews being made with Equinox?

Sierra Nevada Singe Hop Harvest with Equinox is out and it is a tasty brew. It has a good mix of flavors alot of Tropical Fruit notes.

TG Xhops Red was Equinox. Hopefully they can bring it back now that it's actually being cultivated.

Black Husky did a few runs of Equinox Howler & Equinox Pale Ale. Not certain there are any bottles still floating around. Personally, I prefer Simcoe, but both provided a great example of a single hop Equinox beers.

If they are still around, won't be all that fresh.

I've been kind of keeping my eyes open for this hop, it's really interesting and different. I am excited by it's potential. My girlfriend Krystyna and I brewed an APA with Equinox yesterday; very potent, very intense mix of smells.

For reference sake: Russian River did a Hop2It with HBC 366, Noble Aleworks did TBA Showers with HBC366, Nebco did Fat Ten Er 8 with Equinox, and there was an Equinox version of the blond ale Treehouse uses to showcase single hops called Eureka. That Sierra with Equinox was interesting, too, although I don't think it did as much as the aforementioned beers to exhibit the hops specific characteristics.

Picked it up today and really like this hop in a pilsner. Very tropical flavor profile.

The hop performed like Galaxy when I used it and tastes and smells akin to Nelson in the APA I brewed.
