That's the other one I was trying to think of. AFAIK, they're still there.

    Epic has Gastropod down there.

Beer Junction and Big Al's aren't in walking distance of each other. West Seattle Brewing and Elliot Bay Brewing WS are near Beer Junction, though.

Thanks, I meant by car but it's obviously not clear from my previous post. Thanks for clearing it up.

Any suggestions of a sports bar with good food and beer? I'll be in town for work and need someplace to watch Monday night football with a handful of folks.

Also, any particular locals I should try to track down as I hit a few bottle shops?

Coopers Alehouse is your spot for sports, beer, and food - TV screens everywhere. They have pool tables and darts, too. Should be a good spot for a handful of folks.

Thanks, loved the Portland thread and was hoping something like this existed for Seattle as I am considering a beer centered trip there in the next few months. Curious if Coopers Alehouse or other bars show soccer matches regularly?

What match are you trying to watch? Seattle is pretty rich in soccer bars - my favorite being the Dray, which boasts a strong taplist and is very intimate. There are tons of other places, but the Dray is the top spot IMO

While I've never been there - as I'm not a soccer fan - I understand that The Atlantic Crossing is a go-to spot for soccer fans. They were often featured during World Cup broadcasts and post their TV schedule on their website: http://www.theatlanticcrossing.com/acevents/. Taplist is European-centric and standard fare IMO.

Atlantic Crossing is the best soccer bar I've been to in the city. It's just a couple blocks from my house, and I randomly ended up there for World Cup when ESPN was filming once. The taplist isn't anything amazing, but they've always got a couple WA beers (Georgetown, Fremont, Two Beers, etc.) to go with the European brews.

Not even sure when I will be visiting at this point but I generally try to watch Barcelona's matches. Thanks for your tip and for the others below.

Will I be able to find bottles from Almanac, SARA(if they have any?), and Alpine around Seattle?

    Great thread!

One question, what are your definitions of a beer bars and a beer centric restaurants?

Which Alpine? There is an Alpine Brewery in Oroville, WA (an actual alpine setting) that brews delicious lagers, and those show up on the wet side. The Alpine from the desert near Mexico isn't a common siting 'round these parts.

I'm not sure it's a hard and fast definition but I would say a beer-centric restaurant is restaurant first with a good taplist (or bottle list). The examples in the OP really are restaurants with a focus on craft beer. A beer bar is a bar first and may or may not serve food but definitely serves craft beer.

And if the food they serve is in the name of the place, it's a dead giveaway. Restaurant.

Does Holy Mountain need to be added to either of the brewery lists above, i.e., must-hit or highly recommended? Is it too early?

I've heard good things but haven't tried.

I've had the Kings Head brown and the fresh hop Equinox Pale. The fresh hop was pretty good, but the brown was amazing.

I'm very excited about them, but might want to hold off for now.
