Founders Fall Releases

Founders Breakfast Stout and Dark Penance just hit the Akron or Cleveland area this week (from what I have seen).

 

I finally got FBS in northwest Indiana today. Bottled 9/8/14.

 

Mosaic and Dark Penance probably won't blow your mind but they are worth at least one Purchase IMO. FBS was as great as always.

 

Dark Penance is pretty darn good. Hoppier than Wookey Jack & even SSR, roastier than Lagunitas', similar but a bit more bitter than Odell Mountain Standard.

 

What are y'all paying for a 4 pack of FBS? $12.50 here in NC...

 

$11.99 in SE MI at my go-to (usually reasonably-priced) shop. I'm sure it's around for a little cheaper, but the only other place I've looked was Meijer, who hadn't gotten it yet.

 

Dark Penance and FBS hit Central Pa.............found them at Wegmans yesterday!

Jackson Rd. Meijer has FBS but not sure how much. They have Dark Penance at $10.99 as well. I"m going to pick up a pack this evening

 

Any idea when Harvest Ale will be going out into distro?

 

Dark Penance is on the shelf now, and it's a bit pricy IMO $12 I think. I'd pay $20 for a 4 pk of Harvest, but I'll get a bottle for $5 like last year, good stuff and given it's only once a year I wouldn't mind. FBS is probably still on the floor at some locations, either they brewed a shit ton or guys aren't buying it, last year TW cut their prices in half to move product. $4.99 is a steal. FBS is great but I usually passe it up as well.

 

Harvest Ale is out in the wild - bottled 9/30 and mighty tasty! 4pks at the store I was at were ~$13.

Grand Rapids yesterday is the only place I know of so far. I'm guessing Kzoo on Friday.

 

I can't beleive FBS is STILL not available in northern VA. I think its sitting at the distributor, waiting for Double Trouble to sell, which pisses me off even more.

 

Shucks that's a bit too far to drive for me unfortunately. I'm in Ann Arbor so I guess I'll have to be patient for a few more days and hopefully it'll be out around here sometime soon. As long as there's not a repeat of last year where we didn't get any till November I'm good!

 

Yeah I'm in the Grand Rapids area. There was plenty though so that's a great sign!

 

There always is. The beer is plentiful thru at least the end of the year.
