I'm a Canadian who will be travelling to Fort Collins for a conference in November. I'll be in Denver for one night. Any suggestions on breweries to visit. Perhaps more importantly - ones to skip? Thanks!
Off the top of my head I am going to say..... Fort Collins Brewery http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/6372/ I'm a fan of their Double Chocolate Stout
Pretty much the exact opposite of what I'd recommend lol. FCB's beer is usually a flop for me, especially with so many other great places in the area that far overshadow them - Funkwerks and Odell would be my top 2 for FOCO.
I would add Pateros Creek to any trip. Their vanilla porter is one of the best I've had, Cooper Smith's also has good food and beer.
Odell, Funkwerks, Horse & Dragon are my 3 favorites from Fort Collins. I am not a New Belgium fan but if you are, I'd definitely put them on your to do list. If you only do one, I'd personally make it Odell.
Welcome to The States! It's going to be hard to work in Fort Collins and Denver in one day. They are about an hour apart and so much to see in both places. In Denver, I have enjoyed Great Divide, Breckenridge, Epic, Crooked Stave and a little ways away, Avery. For bars, I enjoyed Falling Rock, Euclid Hall and Bull & Bush. In Fort Collins I have enjoyed New Belgium, Fort Collins, Funkwerks, Equinox, Odells and Coppersmith. Odells has a really nice outdoor area if the weather permits. I enjoyed all of the above well enough that last week was not my first or last time to visit them. Also, check out the thread that I started "Lets talk about GABF 2014", lots of ideas there. Also, check out a few of the other more recent Denver threads. One of them has addresses for all of these places. It was a big help to me. Hope you have a good time. l
Ft. Collins Breweries: Odell, Funkwerks, New Belgium, Horse & Dragon, Equinox, Black Bottle Bars: Tap & Handle, Choice City, Mayor Of Old Town, Taps, Forge Publik House, Crankenstein So many more places in Ft. Collins to visit!! Lot depends on styles you like, vibe, etc...
Driving through on Tuesday and stopping at Crooked Stave and Mr. B's. What are some places to fill a growler too?
