Why is a 12 pack of SNPA cans $21.99 when you can get some decent local micros for $8-9 a sixer? It just doesn't make sense. You can get 4 Pack of Sixpoint for $8.99, or a four pack on Sierra Nevada Torpedo Cans for $10.99. Who makes these prices up?

    3 - 4 pks x $8.99 = $26.97

    2 - 4 pks x $10.99 = $21.98

I fail to see your problem with 12 cans of something costing less than if you bought something else.

In one instance he's referring to SN Pale Ale (12-packs) and in the other he's talking about Torpedo (4-packs).

Also, sixpoint 4-packs are the volume equivalent of a 6-pack since they are pounders.

So are the Torpedo cans. The difference between the volume of beer between SNPA and Torpedo is small if you buy 2 4 pks of Torpedo and 1 SNPA 12 pack and the cost difference is $0.01.

Sixpoint's pricing has always been similar to that whether it's been Wegman's, Whole Foods or in NYS.

If torpedo is sold in pounders, the pricing on the 12pack of SNPA makes even less sense. Are you agreeing or disagreeing with OP? You seem to be making his argument for him.

I'm trying to figure out what his argument even is. Is he upset at the pricing of SNPA or Torpedo? He started off by saying you could get locals and compares it to Six Point and another SN beer.

I'm more confused than anything, as the pricing doesn't bother me at all.

I see what you mean, but when I read the post I took it as "Why the hell is SNPA $22 for 144 oz when I can get 144 oz of other craft (Sixpoint being the example) for $18 and 144 oz of Torpedo (usually a more expensive beer) for the same price?" SNPA is generally thought of as one of the cheaper options in craft. Paying $11 for a 6-pack would be a bad price, but $22 for the 12-pack is worse.

edit: I thought torpedo was a 4-pack of 12 oz, but figured he was mentioning it because it was usually more expensive.

    How's this:
Why the hell is SNPA $22 a 12 pack in PA when it's $14 in Boston?

To be fair I can get a case from Shangys for 29.99 (24 cans/12oz)

? Not sure what's fair about that. Sounds like you can get it cheaper in Boston, DE, NJ, FL.... (seems most places) without having to buy in bulk.

And how is Sam Adams, brewed right here in PA, so expensive (relatively). I don't think it's a Wegman's Collegeville exclusive.

Bottom line, $ 21.99 for a 12 pack of SNPA is too expensive. $ 15.00 to $ 16.00 is more in line with what it should be.
