i cant beleive I forgot Lake Erie Monster from GLBC. fantastic DIPA, just in a rough category with Hopslam, Double trouble, Pliny, and others. Its fantastic for what it is. Its fruitier counterpart (Hop Madness) is even better and can compete with the heaveyweights in the DIPA category.

Smutty IPA. A really good IPA that just kind of trucks along. Always good, consistent, and IMO over looked when compared to world class IPA's. Especially good on tap.

Clipper City Loose Cannon. How many times do I have to say this?

I've found Coronado to be a good brewery that doesn't get too much recognition. Their Idiot IPA is one that I found one of the better DIPA's out there, which is tough being in such a popular category where there are so many quality beers.

Smuttynose Finest Kind and Mayflower Oatmeal Stout. Both Very good examples of each style and don't get enough appreciation.

Just a few I would put into the category:

Olde Hickory Black Raven - one of the best black IPAs I've had, available everywhere fresh and cheap
Columbus Brewing Co. IPA - easily my favorite single IPA. I feel like I talk about it whenever it comes up on here and it has a good rating, but it's available in gas stations so it's not rare enough
And, naturally, the beer that periodically generates a thread about how it's so underappreciated that gets 6 pages of replies and then gets forgotten till the next time - SN Torpedo

Odin's Tipple is as good an Imperial Stout as you can find, yet it gets little mention.

Hard to say, because you folks are all so f'n' beer-smart, but when it comes to a stout, a Russian Imperial Stout particularly - if (a big "if" with this crowd) you're not aware of it, Old Rasputin is a very cheap, extremely good beer. It has all the features a RIS should have (sweet/dry, mellow, strong, notes of chocolate, roasted malt, espresso, and a teensy bit of anise/licorice), and in my area at least, it's like an $11 4-pack @ 9% abv. Hey, it's a RIS named Old Rasputin. How can you go wrong?
For me, at least, as I started to get into craft beer, this one really stood out as like, why the hell isn't everyone drinking it?

Sorry, but I couldn't disagree with you more about Storm King. One of my least favorite craft beers ever.

I agree about Central Waters, and have to give Ale Asylum a try.

I love Haand Brygiforgethowtospellit but though that Odin was a disaster. I'd like to try it again but it's pretty pricey for a beer I wasn't fond of.

Lots of Anderson Valley beers, IMHO.

Their esb, ipa, oatmeal stout and amber are all standbys for me. They have good ratings on BA, but I don't hear them praised much.

Personally i think Sam Adams is under appreciated. I know a lot of people on here like them, but a lot also knock them. They consistantly brew quality beers and at a fair price. They also have saved me from many a restaurant with only BMC taps as an alternative.

I drink it, and I love it, although mostly in the winter months. I don't drink stouts and porters too much here in SC when it gets hot out (looking forward to spending the day at the beach tomorrow with a cooler full of Dales Pale Ale).

i can think of two breweries that don't get much love and i don't understand why... uinta and boulevard. every brew i try from both companies puts a grin on my face the way only a good beer can, but i never hear much about them on the forums.
