I wanted to make a stop at Showboat but they never post what's on tap. I pretty much just want to go there to drink some TG and fill a couple growlers. I guess I would have to call them the day we plan on stopping in there to see what's flowing.

There you go. Still some TG kegs on. They had planned on going all bottles sometime soon. Usually Showboat offers growler fills on anything they have on tap. But Showboat often has BCBS, Three Floyds of all types, and other harder to find stuff. Liquor Central in Lake Delton might have TG bottles, worth stopping at Coffee Grounds in Eau Claire, too.

Damn I'm an idiot! I checked their website, twitter and FB but never bothered to check Beermenus. Thanks man. Now we have a decision to make between Madison and the Dells. I know that overall, Madison is better but really would like to check out Showboat.

Yeah- not much to do in the Dells besides Showboat & mini golf this time of year. It takes about 4 hours to get to the Twin Cities from Madison, so you could time it so you hit Showboat at 11am and have a few $2.50 taps. ( last time I was there TG beers were included in the $2.50 all-day happy hour.) You'd probably still make it up to MSP by 4-5pm.

Our plan is to hit up the Nova and Town Hall before we get to Surly so we might have to hit Showboat on our way back home. Does that place get crowded on Sat nights?

In the summer it's packed, but it tapers off in the fall. Wisconsin Dells is a pretty small town after mid-October.

Not to nitpick, but I don't think this is completely accurate. As I understand it, they've only cut back on kegging. They're still making mouths happy in some bars and restaurants, just fewer than before, for now.

That's good news. The early posts I was reading were panicked because it sounded like they were cutting out kegs completely.

Wow! The Showboat has Short's Yosemite Scooter on tap right now, apparently. That is the first time I've ever seen Short's on tap outside of Michigan. I didn't think they did any distribution out of state.

*edit- Just realized the probably brought it with them to Great Taste, as that is the only way out of state places get Short's beer.

Yeah- maybe it was a keg that Short's brought over themselves, maybe they made a quick visit to the Dells. I seem to remember a shop up there having some bottles around that time, too.

Roast Public House, Glass Nickel, and The Greenbush in Madison have it as well (per Untappd)

If I didn't live 4 hours away I would go drink some tonight. Short's beer is one of the things I miss most from back in U.P.

Had the Shorts tonight @ Greenbush. Not bad.
