    Heh, I'll chime in.

I very rarely have morning beers, because I don't drink before going to work, and I love coffee. I had an FBS this morning, as I was off-going duty, had already had a big cup of coffee, and I wanted to relax (anyone who's worked a 24+ shift knows that feeling). So if I do, it's on a weekend or a day off, and even then, exceptionally rare.

I don't judge those who do, though. There's nothing special or sacred about the time of day that makes that beer affect your system any differently. If you end up drinking more alcohol overall, that's different. But by my example: a beer around 9:00ish am today. It's now 12:15, and I haven't had a second. That beer has more than wore off. I'm thinking about having a beer with lunch, and I will certainly have a beer or two tonight.

Is it always that way? Naw. Sometimes - especially for New Beer Sunday - once I get started, I really get rolling (and that is almost never before 11:00 am). But most of the time, I space my beers out pretty well.

Now lunch beers....I'm a big fan of a beer (or maybe two!) with lunch, but never if I have any real work responsibilities remaining. Paperwork and admin are one thing, but human responsibilities are another. And like with breakfast beers, I'm almost certainly not having another beer for several hours, unless it's a weekend.

    Aaaaand....now I'm thirsty. Cheers!

There were probably 100 people drinking beer at Founders around 11 this morning. It was a scandal, and the police were called. They took away everyone's beer and handed out fresh Monsters and Red Bulls. Founders is shuttered now, and no one drinks beer in the morning anymore.

There are two things in life that I love dearly in regard to morning drinking:

A nice beer by the campfire while camping in Colorado.

A good beer or four at 9:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning watching the English Premier League.
(It's not my fault England is 6 hours ahead ...)

It's rare, though not unheard of in my world.

If my wife and I happy to have an opportunity to go to brunch on a weekend, I'll crack one before noon. If I'm on vacation and want a physical representation of the "I don't give a fuck" mode I am in, I'll crack one before noon. If, in those very rare instances, I get a chance to go to a New York Giants game down in Jersey, I'll crack one before noon. In the first two situation it's just one and done, in the third scenario there'd be many to follow.

I routinely get a nice rich stout or porter for breakfast/brunch on the weekends with friends. Usually comes after a good hike/round of disc but even if not, it's a nice relaxing way to wile away part of my morning. Here in Boston there are a few REAL Irish pubs where early mornings with a pint and a paper/book or a game of dominoes with friends is like a requirement, ha

Had a Lawson's Fayston Stout with Breakfast. First time I've had a beer that early in a really long time and it was great.

just wait til brunch, then it's socially acceptable. My palette usually can't appreciate anything too complex and flavorful upon waking up so if i were (and i have) i'd go with something cheap, light and not much flavor, maybe a coors. save the good shit for later.

I don't drink before noon often, but I admit to drinking a stout this morning around 10. It was a cool fall morning, sun was out, and I felt like drinking a tasty stout this morning. It's 2 now, and that's the only beer I've had today. I didn't "need" the beer, I simply wanted one!

And since I'm able to type this, I guess I didn't explode or turn to dust because I had a morning beer! Phew!

I've had many a morning beer especially with brunch. Midday is typically when your senses are at their peak so sometimes you may be able to pick up on flavors you haven't at the end of the day. I think that makes for a more enjoying beer. I think all tastings should start around 1030 am so that tongues are in their peak and you don't miss a thing. Read garret Oliver's book and tell me you won't crave a beer for breakfast after reading some of the pairings he mentions. OP don't let the man get you down drink away and don't be ashamed!

Sorry folks! I can't operate a freight train or fly a sea plane...even with one. Wrigley Field...It's always 1:20! For me, when I'm not doing anything...anything goes!!! Doesn't matter what time of day it is!

Agreed! I need to be awake and exercised on weekends before I have a few!

A nice milk stout always sounds Lind a good idea for a morning beer until it's morning, when drinking a beer seems like a sad thing to seem or work within. A joint seems wiser if you require a buzzle

I work Graveyard shift and get off at 6:30 in the morning. Love a good stout in the Morning. It helps me sleep. If you have tried to sleep during the day you know how hard it can be.

I already drink too much beer. Cannot have a beer before noon. And I limit myself to only 1 at lunch.
