Depends on many factors...but this is the basic equation.

Depends on the brew and my mood...Bud Select or Miller High Life, very fast...they need to be very cold so they don't last long. However a good DIPA or a nice thick stout I'll sip on for a couple of hours.

If in a really good mood and running slightly hyper I'll pop a few reg IPAs down pretty fast but usually drink them at a medium pace. Really depends on the brew and my mood?

If I may add, put a muzzle on your guzzle. Use a nimple.

It depends on the circumstances. Shitty day at work or loss by the favorite sports team I will grab something "less desirable" from the cellar and it goes down quick. Bottle shares with the buddies we definitely take our time, savoring the taste and reveling in the good company.

During the week, I'll usually savor the one or two I'll have at night after work. The weekend is a different story all together. Usually start trying beers that I've traded for recently, the extras and anything I've picked up so it tends to happen at a much faster pace.

Hey everyone-- this is indeed a serious question! It's one of those "just wondering" muses of mine...

I'm amazed at all you who claim you take an hour to polish off a fine brew-- you sure it's not flat by the time 60mins is up?
(I'm imagining a pint a pour-- and not a half gallon!).

For me seems to be a constant 10-15 mins and I'm thru my pint-- reaching for my 2nd.

Thanks for all your answers... even to you curmudgeons out there!

Whenever I pour a brew-- especially a fave-- I notice lately that the bottom of the glass comes upon me far too quickly. This leads me to my question-- how quickly to you tank a beer? Do you savor the pint.. drink with a touch of lethargy-- 'till the libation goes flat? Do you guzzle with abandon-- bottoms up! Do you relish the tasting experience? So what's your drinking style?[/QUOTE]

    Oh one other thing:

When I say "guzzle" I'm speaking rhetorically.

No, it's not a serious thread. You're just drunk off your rocker and taking it too seriously. Or not drunk enough and taking it too seriously. I don't know how it works.

    Either way...lighten up, Francis.

I get where the OP is coming from. With me, it's like I'm on a date with the beer. I take my time, break the ice (sorta speak). Let her warm up to me. That takes about an hour. If I'm not feeling her, I dump the date. If we're feeling each other. Then after an hour I'm slamming that glASS!

At a bar I could finish a pint in about 10 minutes. Just depends though.

I have the luxury of living an easy 45 minute drive from KRBC and have even polished off a Citra in record time. It just all depends on mood and if I'm eating.

Bottom line, I'm an alcoholic guzzler ;P

All these people saying it takes them around an hour to drink a beer. Really? This isn't wine or an aged scotch.

Stop trying to be overly sophisticated.
You can still enjoy a beer without being like that.

I'm generally in no hurry when I drink--indeed, the worst thing is when I have to rush through a beer faster than I'd like--and so I tend to enjoy any beer over a 30 minute period or more. Yesterday it took my about an hour and a half to polish off a Heavy Seas Great'er Pumpkin bomber, and I love how the flavor developed as the beer gradually warmed.

Another difference is that on the (unfortunate) occasions when I am forced to drink straight from the bottle, the beer goes down a lot quicker. Might as well, can't taste it nearly as well that way anyhow.

I'm usually a pretty fast drinker. but I have trouble savoring anything that is good in any aspect. If I have good food, i tend to eat it to fast, If i have a good beer, I tend to drink it to fast. If it taste good to me it doesn't last long. While watching the

That said Sometimes I do just chill and drink slowly, it just depends on how I feel and what I'm doing. If its Friday night with the boys I start off fast then slow down. If its Sunday watching the football game I drink slow and chill so I don't get drunk and end up hung-over for work.

Depends on the style as others have said, but I definitely drink faster than average. Same goes for eating, and a lot of things in life actually. I promised my wife that I'm going to work on being more of a journey rather than a destination type guy. Easier said than done haha
