Very nice Czech pils! Taste of lemon, orange zest, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, pepper, and pine. Good amount of herbal/pine bitterness on the finish. Very crisp, clean, and well balanced flavors with no yeast presence. Very refreshing and smooth.


Amazing old ale! Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, vanilla, toast, dark bread, toffee, oak, whiskey, leather, light tobacco, light peat smoke, and roast/oak earthiness. Light roasted bitterness on the finish. Incredible balance of malt and scotch barrel flavors. Very smooth, creamy, and lightly slick mouthfeel. This blew me away, compared to all of the 8% versions in varying cask ages(which are all still excellent as well, I will add). The barrel/scotch expression in this beer is so much bigger than all of the other ones I had. Highly recommended.


Very nice Belgian pale ale. Taste of lemon zest, orange peel, pear, apple, white grape, coriander, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Moderate amount of earthy spice on the finish. Well carbonated and crisp drinking. Great malt and yeast flavor balance. Very enjoyable.

Been sipping Duet all weekend .. Kinda changed my mind on this beer cause the first time I tried this way back it was full of sand and floaties and shiiiit.. Anyways.. These bottles have been perfect .
Right now catching up on the DVR .. Homeland, and other showtime shows.. Might even get around to watching the affair

Congrats, bruh!!!

 

Just home from running in the Bourbon Chase 200-mile relay marathon in Kentucky along the Bourbon Trail. Monsoon-like rains, steep and seemingly endless Kentucky hills and the insanity of running three legs in 30 hours= I am happy I did it but I'm happy it's over! What better way to cap off this weekend than with this guy. Pic featuring my commemorative bottle of bourbon from Town Branch and an amazing bottle of double oaked from Woodford. Cheers to the place that all those amazing bourbon soaked barrels come from!


The theme of the Chase this year was disco fever, we adopted this song as our anthem as we slogged from one exchange point to another in the freezing rain!

 

Started with a Kings English IPA, pretty underwhelming overall, while cooking dinner.

Then had a NB Tour de Fall with dinner (sorry, no pic). Now drinking a Uinta Anniversary Barleywine Ale, courtesy of @tulpenhiney. Pretty decent representation, not on a par with say a Bigfoot, but not bad at all.

 

Much more excitement on TWD Season 5 than in that game!! Carol kicks more ass than the entire Giants team!

 

Took a nice drive to Hudson to check out the fall leaves along the St. Croix and stopped in at Casanovas. Toppling Goliath can't get to Minnesota fast enough.

New Yorkers, buy this. I would, if it were in my region. Very well-priced too. On the malty side, but I like.
