This is what i've offered. Willing to go 3 for 1.

    Brandy Dark Lord
    King Henry
    11' Black Tuesday
    12' Dark Lord
    Baller Stout
    Blushing Monk (the new version)

Am I under offering here? Any advice is appreciated.

So in other words, I'd better hope that I get picked in the Upland Sour Reserve lottery that is upcoming?

I wish you all the good beer juju in the world. I had to offer a spot at the table to have someone bring theirs, even if I was bringing 3 of the BA DL's. If I can help in any way, let me know how. As a personal opinion, I thought this years Cognac La Muerta was absofuckinlutely phenomenal.

I wouldn't mind getting the Cognac version either. Trying to get as many as I can get for a future tasting, thus far I have Brandy, Bourbon, and Bourbon vanilla, so I have a ways to go lol.

I think the problem are the beers in bold. Those just aren't on the same level in a quantity trade. Baller stout is average and the '12 Dark Lord is a lottery with the green apple flavors. Combine that with the rarity and overall awesomeness of the Pappy and you've got tough trade. I bet the right person hasn't seen it yet. Don't give up!

To be fair, the pvw DL was disappointing 2 weeks ago when we drank it.
The regular 2012 bourbon BLEW IT AWAY.

There are several Ba's that were at this tasting that can attest to this-- perhaps a few will respond to corroborate my claim.

Well then, that certainly does change things now doesn't it

Did you try any other the other BA Darklords that night?

I'm thinking the pvw may have better last year, but with a year of aging on it we all felt it was lacking.
It wasn't bad by any means, but certainly not worth what people were trading to land it.

In your shoes I would go after a bottle of BCS Rare instead-- it is MUCH better than pappy DL... And I'd also try for a 2012 bourbon version as well.

I would call you a Baller, but I dont want any one getting it confused with the beer. So I will just call you stud.

This man speaks the truth. I had it finishing in the 5th spot ahead of only the '12 Muerte...he was a bit spicy for me.

So what were the top 2 BA DLs after the taste test?

We didn't actually sit around and formulate a 1-6 ranking. I think almost everyone had different favorites of the night.

I still can't pick one between the cognac and vanilla, but the bourbon was outstanding as well. I really liked last year's brandy, but side-by-side with the cognac (I know) it seemed like it had lost a bit of "pop" (technical).

I'm fortunate enough to have a bourbon, bourbon vanilla, and 2 brandy dark lords. Maybe I'll go after the brandy vanilla instead of the PVW

I think this is due more so to the base beer holding up better over time than the Pappy Dark Lord. Fresh, the two were neck and neck for me, but, just as regular BCBS has held up well, Rare has held up well, and just as 2010 Dark Lord was a mess the most recent time I had it, PVW Dark Lord (made with the 2010 DL), while masking some of the deficiencies, couldn't compare to the way Rare has held up.
