Visiting the area and will be staying in Greenville, but heading to Charleston as well. Any must see places or hidden gems I need to check out?

    Thanks

Charleston rocks, I was just there for a couple of days. There is good beer all over the place, too. I went to Holy City and Coast breweries. They are pretty close to each other in North Charleston and I would go to both if I could. There's not much at Coast, but the beer is really good. ( I think they were renovating their tap room while I was there?)

There's always this thread, too. http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/charleston.193721/

Community Tap at Greenville is cool. If going to Charleston, you'll hit the Charleston Beer Exchange, so likely no need to go to Greenville Beer exchange. Also, probably a good idea to hit Green's Beer and Liquor off of Haywood Road. Place has often had beers there turding it up that had no business lasting on the shelf.

My friends in NC rave about Coast and Charleston Beer Exchange (bottle shop buys), and of course westbrook...waiting on second bottle of BAMC to get to me, loved regular Mexican cake this year, expectations are high for BAMC...

Need to make it to to chucktown for a long weekend at some point...

    Enjoy your trip!

True...I'll walk into Greens sometimes, and see something that makes me think "What the hell is this still doing here?"

I found BB Biscotti and DB Jesus just wasting away on the shelf there. Odd but yay for me.

Edmund's Oast and Closed for Business are probably the bars with the best/largest tap-list. Westbrook, Coast, and Holy City for brewery drinking. Charleston Beer Exchange, Bottles, and Total Wine for picking up bottles. You can pretty much get good food anywhere so no problems there.

@jshusc when did you see the DB Jesus? there are a few BB Biscotti hanging around now at the beer exchange. They recently sold out of Bo and Luke too, surprised it hung around as long as it did. That DB Jesus is awesome though, $25 price tag makes it a tough sell but I'd love to have another tucked away...

I got one early this year. Probably around February or March maybe. I thought it was so much better than BB Biscotti.

Closed for Business was a cool place, just a little bit expensive. Then again it was on King Street, probably comes with the territory.

I'm a fan of the place/people @ C4B, but don't sleep on Kudu either. Like 2 blocks away, 20+ taps, almost always a one-off local cask. Plus the coffee is stellar (for before/after burz).

Damn, I almost recommended Kudu. I have been bragging about that place ever since I came back. If I was to own a place, that would be it- Coffee in the morning, beer in the afternoon, cool patio on the side. What else do you need?
