Best Local German Style Beer

I don't think FCB concentrates on our market as much as they used to. It used to be that you could only get their beers in FC down to Denver and they would come in those ridiculous white cardboard boxes. Now they distribute all over the place. They're up there with Ska, Left Hand, and OB as far as their distro footprint goes. I've run into their beers all over the southeast, where they seem to be doing well. I wouldn't be surprised if CO wasn't even their biggest market.
I think they make a fair amount of their seasonal beers, but they're no longer sending everything within an hour of FCB anymore.
Based upon memory, their smoked doppelbock is a winter release (hopefully we'll see it soon?)...and obviously the maibock isn't exactly in peak condition right now.

 

Yeah I saw them in Chicago when I was there this past weekend. I think Binny's had a greater selection of their beers than any store in Denver.

 

I think I still have a sixer in the white box of that smoked doppelbock. Circa 2006? Wonder how it's held up.

Thinking about what an 8 year old rauch-doppelbock could taste like...that might not be something you would want to give to any dear friends.

 

I feel bad but I give FCB absolutely NO love and that's shitty of me. I'll have to try these out if I can...

see, this is why BA is rad cause I wrote off (stupidly, I admit) FCB a long time ago and posts like this help my stupid ass out.
