I have been in northeastern England for the last couple months, which is a place where American IPAs are about a rare as filming a snow leopard in the wild. There is a cheesy pub chain here called Wetherspoons and suprisingly they carry Bengali, Sweet Action and The Crisp. Perhaps even more suprising they are only 1.99 GBP. Bengali has earned a permanent place in my heart, and I think the other Americans here and I are buying enough to keep the contract alive. But I digress.....Global Warmer is probably my favorite.

Since you started this post over 6 months ago - was wondering if you care to revise your statement? Since then we've released:

    1) Barrel Aged Imperial Otis

    2) TESLA

    3) Seison

    4) The new Bengali

    any thoughts?

    cheers

I absolutely loved BA otis and the new bengali! That and the crisp are my go to's along w resin...since i started the thread i also tried 3beans on tap(im assuming saved from before it was retired) and it blew me away...to answer the question id have to say that the crisp has moved its way to my #1 spot for the regular lineup...was the recipe tweaked at all?

Yes, but only slightly tweaked. Our fan base has been very pleased with it - so its great to hear your positive feedback about it. With lager beers its hard to make significant changes without it being a "revolution" so we prefer more of an "evolution"

The key is always to be improving :-)

    Easier said than done!

I can't wait to get my hands on some Resin in a 6 pack. This has always been one of my favorite DIPA's, and now it will be regular in my fridge.

I was excited that this was a new thread for me to reiterate my love of 3Beans in, but alas it is not.

p.s. I've had Sensi, Seison, and Tesla in the interim though.

Well I will preface this with the fact that we didn't see much in the way of specialty brews here in Michigan. Really unfortunate that they have decided to drop out of Mi. They have some awesome stuff. The one that I did get a hold of that stood apart from the rest of the beers for me was the 3 bean. Very aggressively bold with coffee and roast. I also watched a video on the process they went through to brew it and had to hold it in a little higher regard after finding out the troubles they had completing it. Very solid brew. I still have a four pack in my cellar.

@Sixpoint was the formula for hi res modified? I see on the app that the abv is listed at 10.5 and this website lists 11.1 abv

Resin in a 6 pack means it is 50% more better.

did you get to try the six-packs yet?

saw that you tried Global Warmer too - what did you think?

wow, those are quite different brews - on opposite ends of the spectrum!

let us know how that 3Beans holds up over time - it is about 2 years old now

we took everyone's collective feedback from the first year of brewing the HI-RES and made some very minor tweaks...we'll be happy to share them with you when we announce the release early next year!

that looks like some fresh split Juniper logs and some of that RESIN!

seems to be a favorite around here...

I'll take that as a yes!
