Westbrook definitely gets some Euro distro with their strong Mikkeller/Evil Twin ties

Just nabbed a 6er of this last week (already gone) and enjoyed every minute of every can. It is easily the best beer to eat Oysters with. I sure hope we get more soon here in NYC.

I just picked up some at the midtown east WF and someone mentioned earlier that the Bowery location got several cases. Pick it up while you can, I'm guessing this will be the last time we'll see it until next year's batch.

YUP! I'm getting some WB Gose sent to me via SWEDEN, of all places! I have a friend there whose girlfriend's auntie flies back and forth every few months and we send beers along with her each way. I think he's sending me some 3 Floyd's, too (another beer they get all the way over there that we don't get here in CA).

Quite frankly the scene in Europe is killing the US at the moment, particularly if you live in Scandinavia or the UK. We have all the local stuff and get a mountain of great US imports.

3 Floyd's are in the process of opening a brewpub/bbq restaurant in Copenhagen. Their beers are already available via Mikkeller.

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize the disto was so limited, since I see it mentioned here so often...guess I got some trade fodder!!

I know about the import company in N.Y. that has S.C. ties, but seeing those states listed together is more like Gettysburg than modern beer distribution. It is good to see. The Westbrook Gose is perfect for southern weather.

Tried most Coast beers, but I'm just not as impressed with HopArt and Boy King as most other folks are.

I agree with Boy King not being as good a hoped, but I do love me some HopArt

During GABF they sent some to Colorado! Very Cool.

What wasn't cool was it was all out-of-date. WTF?
I like the Anderson Valley one better. The Westbrook had too much Butyric acid (smelled like vomit).

IMO the WB Gose gets better with age. Out of curiosity how did you determine that beer was out of date? BTW, love your BA name and Avitar!! God Bless Mikey!!

The dating on the bottom of the can is the canning date.

The cans say to drink them 90 days from canning date for 'best by'. I'm with you though Abb, to a degree, they don't really 'age' or get worse, or really change at all. They just stay yummy.

Last year i did a 2 year vertical and there was a substantial difference. The first year was clear, bright, and had a much rounder flavor in comparison. Did a 3 year vertical this year and while there was less of a difference between the 2 oldest vs. this year, the oldest was my preference, followed by last years. A lot of the salty "harsh" flavors were gone which brought out more sweet citrus flavors. I have a picture on my phone that shows the difference in clarity but cant figure out how to attach it to this message.

Had it. Love it. Perfect blend of twang and saltiness -- I only wish Westbrook had distro in Ohio!
