    Hypothetical question:

If they were to throw one of the planets into bourbon barrels(EXCLUDING SATURN FOR OBVIOUS REASONS) for a 750 release after the series is complete, what would it be?

I'm sure the common answer would be Neptune based on the simple fact that stouts tend to develop well in barrels.

My suggestion would be Uranus, and not for joke purposes, but based on the how awesome that Short's BA Goodnight Bodacious is.

    @LarryBell

Realisticaly I'm going to guess that none of this will happen to any of the series since Saturn is already a BA beer, but BA Uranus could be tremendous(assuming the base beer is good).

Carry on, nothing to see here, just typing my inner dialogue.......

I'll say what's likely been said several times... Venus is a dud. Well, I mean, it's a decent beer, but Jesus it's not what I thought it would be like. I thought it'd be "delicate" and have more vanilla in it. I don't know. This is just sour apricot juice and malt for the most part. Not bad but... ugh...

Pretty good comparison now that I think about it. This one might be a little less sour and have less acidity, but you're right (haven't had that beer in a long while though).

But seriously, to each their own. I loved Mars and thought this year's Oracle was gross.

I don't know man, I'm on the east side of the state as well and there's a yawning gap between "just 40 minutes" and "just two hours". 80 minutes is something you could do on your way home from work if you were so inclined and be home in time for dinner. 4 hours is a damn day trip.

I think we are lacking some necessary details to appropriate answer this hypothetical question. The one that could intrigue me is Jupiter. Depending on the ABV, a big malty Brown Ale could work very well in a barrel.

I don't get your point here. I agree driving to Detroit and back with traffic and construction is probably a day trip. He paid $5 for 2 bottles, all I pointed is that a case is $43 from the general store in Kzoo. I don't seem to have too hard of a time finding guys to mule stuff from the east side of the state and Kzoo. I was merely suggesting that he might have a friend or someone he knows like a neighbor that commutes to West MI for work or something.

Why is everyone posting their reviews under "Bells Venus" and not "Bell's Venus"? "Bells Venus" doesn't exist as it is Bell's Brewery not Bells Brewery.

Yeah, I reported the duplicate and explained that in the comment a few days ago. The mods must be busy.

Any sightings of Venus in the DMV? Managed to find Mars but the store hasn't gotten it's allotment of Venus yet so was wondering if any other stores in the district are getting anything yet?

Venus hit Iowa City and Cedar Rapids today so it should be there soon maybe Tuesday.

Surprisingly it did not keep for even three months, I did not drain poor mine, but struggled to get it down after 2 months of being in a bottle. Not good on Bells part. Fresh, was fantastic.

We're still waiting for our small token allotment of Venus to dribble into MN.
I'll be driving across WI tomorrow. Is it available in WI yet? Thanks.

I can't imagine Mars would have already fallen off that hard, but I do think it'll be interesting in a year or so, curious to see if it goes the Barleywine route (not impossible with that ABV and malt bill).

If anyone missed Mars in the Orlando area, the Total Wine on Colonial apparently got a 2nd batch in. Called today to ask what special releases they had in, and that was there. Confirmed it was a second batch of Mars and not Venus, which they haven't received yet.

I don't know what beer you guys had but the Mars I drank was one of the drier 10% DIPA's on the market.

Heading through Grand Rapids on Friday. Anyone in town know of any places that would still have single bottle of Venus left? Thanks!
