Just looking for some information regarding availability and if there are still fresh sixers/bombers of this around. Thanks!
Picked up a sixer of the grapefruit about a week ago in Northern California, I would imagine they are fresh as they don't last long. Have not seen the habanero around though (from what I read the Grapefruit is way better anyway). The sixer of 12oz bottles is around $15.
I had seen this on a couple websites but I am hesitant to buy it because I am not sure how long they have had it. Craft shack had sixers of each but they were also on sale leading me to believe they have been holding onto them for awhile. Also, would things like NG fruits, Pipeworks and Revolution trade for this stuff?
I would imagine this would easily get done. We get Ballast Point here in Colorado now, but have not seen the Sculpin variants (not sure we will get them). If we did get them, I'd trade for all this stuff in a heartbeat, and I know a few others that would as well.
I can't speak to the availability in San Diego but I can tell you it is hard to find in and around Sacramento and goes in a hurry when it is available.
I meant the Ballast Point website. I have no idea about shipping or freshness as I've never tried... http://beerstore.ballastpointbrewingandspirits.com/packaged-beer-c1.aspx
We got Grapefruit Sculpin here in Alabama so it's evidently not that hard to find. Got some in my fridge right now.
So how grapefruit is it? Regular to me is all grapefruit. Couldn't conceive of being more. Holy cow!!!!!!!
It's extremely grapefruit. Bitter grapefruit peel and juicy grapefruit. One of my favorite beers. Habanero on the other hand, I took two sips and drain poured the rest. I'm not sure how they are making money on this beer. I absolutely love spicy food but the heat on he back end of this beer makes it undrinkable IMO.
It has more of the citric acid bitterness of ruby red grapefruit than the grapefruit flavors you get from hops. I didn't think it was overpowering. I liked it better than Stone's grapefruit beer.
