I was born and raised in Socal and have spent enough time in and out of LA to know all I need to do now is drive past it. I respectively agree to disagree it is one of the greatest cities. Each to their own though.

Real people still go there? I live 5 minutes away and I am sure only day camps and gangsters visit.

You can also go to Alpine on the way to watching the Giants whoop on the Padres at Petco

Even though the Giants lucked their way into a World Series, if you are seeing the Giants at Petco, you're more than likely going to see them lose, as over the past three years they have a losing record at Petco.

Cardinals manager screwed up big time with their bullpen, such a sad few games for non giants fans.

But yeah, Giants v Padres at petco currently favors Padres. Had the dodgers done their job and beat the Giants at the last homestand of the regular season someone else would have secured that spot, sadly the Dodgers already had the division in the bag so they played poorly, this was about the only time in the past 5 years or so I was rooting for the dodgers. I must admit, I felt a little dirty. :slight_frown:

Not like the Giants didn't annihilate Pittsburgh in the wildcard at every level, shut down the Nat's hitting almost entirely, or completely pick apart every Cardinal weakness or anything...just saying.

There's one rule in fight club: Never under any circumstances root for the Dodgers.

Maybe if the Doyers can stand on a bigger bag of money they can get to the WS. Nah, can't buy chemistry.

You realize that the Giants have the third-highest payroll in the majors at $172 million, right? So, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make.

Competent arguments can be made that the only very good team that won it all was the 2012 team. Additionally, what's the correlation between the 2014 team making it to the Series and the 2010 team making it? Very different rosters.

And the Dodgers are at $235 million... only $63 million difference. (this difference would cover the entire Marlins payroll)
    I'm done here.

The correlation is management. They took the success in 2010 and built on it. They sell out every game, have a rabid fan base that also travels well. They know how to win when it counts and are fearless in hostile environments. Consistency with the GM and the best manager in the game count for a lot. And they're actually 7th in payroll. Still high, but not 172, it's 154.

This has already gone off-topic enough (from beer, I mean. My fault.). I forgot that Giants fans are far and away the most hypersensitive fanbase in all of sports. The concessions I'll make are that Bochy is a fantastic manager (far from the best however. I believe that'd be Joe Maddon), and the Giants have a phenomenal player development system. Home-growing Posey, Cain, Lincecum, et al is amazing and shouldn't be diminished, but Sabean is not an objectively great GM, he's been fortunate enough to have some of his more questionable moves pan out perfectly. Re: payroll, I don't see why you keep bringing up the Dodgers, it's kind of a strawman argument. The Giants still have an astronomical payroll. You guys aren't underdogs. Also, you can't quantify "winning when it counts" and "fearless in hostile environments." You have some nice recency bias and anecdotal evidence to support those claims, but there's nothing about those claims that can be considered in any way quantifiable or objective. Plus, if the "rabid fan base" travels well, how many "hostile environments" are they playing in? It can't go both ways.

In any case, the Giants are a good team, and I think I can speak for all the fans of the other 29 teams that we wish we could enjoy the same success you consistently enjoy.

So to clarify, will Bourbon County stuff hit everywhere on Black Friday in L.A or just a couple of locations?
