I can't cite my source on this but in another thread about Cable Car I believe the consensus was Toronado SF is sold out but SD isn't. As mentioned earlier in this thread SD has the ridiculously expensive older vintages.

Prices at the SD location have gone well up from $40. I was in last week and they had the 09 & 10. Forget the prices but well over $40. They also had T20 for $250.

Toronado SF still has some, they just won't sell it to most people.

    09' was $115, and 10' was $85.

Enjoyed a 10' by my lonesome a couple weekends ago at Toronado SD.

I've always been a little confused by this. What does it mean exactly? They'll only sell it to regulars? Is there a password? Do you have to prove you're L337? Slide the bartender an extra Ulysses?

Fuck if I know, maybe they're saving it for future anniversary parties. It's just that when I see "They're out of ___" I think the person is saying that there is no more ___ there. Which isn't true here.

Rare because it's only sold at two bars in the state/country, sought after because it tastes great. When I was there in 2010, I paid $30 for a fresh bottle and thought that was a little excessive. I'm disappointed to hear these new inflated prices. :slight_frown:

At those prices go get Cantillon Lou Pepe instead. In fact, at 30$ get Lou Pepe, too

Slightly off-topic, but I've tried only two Lost Abbey offerings; Red Poppy and Angel's Share Brandy. I have to say that those two have a very distinct musty/woody barrel flavor. Not that it's disagreeable, just that it's a bit overpowering and made two distinct styles of beer (American Strong Ale and Flanders Red Ale) taste somewhat similar...

Is the 2011 Kriek still available at SD? And what is the last known price if it is? Will be out in July, so I am curious.

    No its not.

We did a 3 yr vertical at SD Toronado in Mid May right after the SDBW and they were very gun shy about letting bottles go. I had to email with the bar manager for about a month before to get the bottles lined up and ready to go. We did the vertical and a Bruery Papier and our tab was $345. Oh and BTW, skip 08. Go straight for the 09. But if you do get the 08, blend all 3 and make a CC Cuvee.

Just ask Ehammond1. He knows its bananas.

    Cheers!

They have it. It gets bought so quickly, that the bartenders are often out in the fridges behind the bar, and even in the backstock room upstairs. Sometimes they aren't notified that it's been restocked and think it's out and are too busy to go looking for it. For everything to get restocked the manager has to notice they are out upstairs and go down into the cellar and grab more bottles.
