Has anyone been to Hailstorm Brewing in Tinley Park IL? I hear it just opened last month and I was wondering what peoples thoughts are of it.
Been there about 10 times, they are an outstanding brewery. The brewer/ owners are very nice and will talk to everyone. I brought 2 growlers of there beer to DLD and everyone liked it. I can not say enough good things about hailstorm.
I thought their beer ranged from meh to pretty good. I've had 3, the IIPA, Russian imperial, and the pale ale. Out of all the pale ale was the best. My wife (she's a saint) picked me up 3 of their mini growlers. I got them when they first opened so maybe the kinks have been worked out. Nothing was bad by any means, just ok. I'm going to revisit each of the beers again soon
The pale ale will be different every time, they said there using different hops per batch. They have some Vlad (ris) sitting in barrels.
Was there last weekend and it was awesome ! Beer was great. Took home bombers of Dominatrix and Vlad. Also took home a growler of some wheat beer (BBW), which my wife drank all of. Only thing I didn't like was the fact they close early
I cant believe they're already distributing. Found them at binnys yesterday and picked up a couple bottles.
Looks like Hailstorm is trying to raise some $ for bigger bbl.. They are offering some barrel aged Vlad.. Jump on it if you are a fan. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hailstorm-brewing-co-expansion
This kind of thing bothers me. They're trying to raise $57k for an expansion so soon - why was this not a part of their original business plan or funding? Unable to secure a loan? And beer names these days -- jeez is the pot running dry? -- "Vlad vs Zombie vs Shark". I should write a program to generate beer names based upon tested nouns and internet memes. How about: Zombie Selfie Unicorn vs Grumpy Cat Skinny Jeans are for Ninjas
Yeah, I don't see a problem with just Barrel aged Vlad.. I really don't like the benefits on this one. I wanted more of freebies. I am almost sure this does not get done
That's the thing!! If they don't get the full 57k, they still get the money raised, which as far as I know, isn't how Kickstarter typically works.
