A nice set of beer glasses. I can't justify that expense because my hobby is expensive enough with just paying for the beer. Plus if my wife tried get me the "weird" beer I like she'd probably bring home Guinness.

My wife learned long ago that when I am into something - books, photography, music, beer - there is no way she can guess what I want. So I keep a Wish List on Amazon to help her. For beer, she better get me a gift card!

My wife just got me a dual temp wine fridge (for cellaring) and a gift card to fill it. That was an awesome gift.

    I would just say....more beer!

Got a mixed case for my last birthday. Nothing earth shattering but they were some solid brews from Harpoon, Lancaster and Troegs. Can't beat free beer. You may not buy these beers yourself since you're out looking for new stuff but they will always be enjoyed and never turned away.

The best beer gifts (for me at least)
    1. Gift card for local store I frequent
    2. Belgian beer gift sets. The beers are all great and who can't use another Belgian chalice?

If it's not a rare beer then a gift card to craftshack or craftbeerkings because shipping's a bitch

That can be a problem with someone that is not much into craft beer attempting to buy you some rare beers. Had this happen before in the past and then you have to put on the "Oh Wow thank you so much (but I've already had this beer and there are so many other ones on my list I want to get to)" face!

If you tick everything you've ever tried on BA, then the gifter can go online and see what you've had (and what you've hated).

It would be neat if BA had a program to recommend beers for a user. The program would just need to match your beer scores to similar users, then bring up entries that the other users have loved but you have not tried (and maybe filter by availability).

Probably like many BA's I enjoy picking out my brews and don't want any mess-ups by someone unknowledgable buying them. For lower budget (definitely <$100), I think offering up to be a DD and paying to take you to your choice of local breweries/craft bar crawl is great. Next step up in time/money woud be day trip/overnight stay drive to some furhter away breweries/craft bars. Then a plane flight trip for the 1% crowd.
