Thank you kindly for your interest in Beachwood beers. Saide, our most recently released barrel-aged beer has a retail price of $25 per 22oz bottle, not $35. Cheers!

My bad, not sure why I thought I saw $35 listed somewhere.

    We're not there yet!

Even though this is a Wisconsin -based thread, I highly recommend picking up any Beachwood you can get your hands on. Melrose is one of my all-time favorite IPA's.

Just out of curiosity how much was System of a Stout? I traded for it so I'm not sure what the cost was. It was an amazing brew and incredibly unique (not to mention a tribute to an awesome band). Only ever tried that and your smoked porter but both where exceptional brews.

It is funny because my negativity revolves around brutally honest about beers. It seems like people always shun me for saying anything bad about a beer. I definitely try to be constructive, but I have had my fair share of posts zapped because of this.

The pricing thing comes down to running a business. I have a hard time faulting anyone for the price they charge other than it may deter me from buying their product

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Traded for it and was very underwhelmed considering the hype for that beer.

If I want a run of the mill RIS I'll just get some Old Rasputin. Luckily, I got to taste Darkness at the wild peach release this year. I really appreciated that the guy shared some with me don't get me wrong but it just tasted like any other RIS of ever had and not a very good one either.

If you've got extra bottles, I can take 'em off your hands*, then. While it's no CW16, Darkness is a stout that I do enjoy.

    (*trade)

Only had one bottle, traded a 4pk of Wild Sour for it awhile ago, wish I had the WS back haha.

Has anyone tried the O'so Brett Pils yet? I see they have it on at Ray's Growler Gallery, curious how that combo tastes.

The Brett Pils is delicious. The Brett isn't overwhelming and you can still pick out that it is a pilsner. Really refreshing and would have been a great summer beer.

$20 for a brewery release beer isn't that bad. We in Wisconsin have been spoiled with our affordable beer for a long time. But the reality is people will pay that and more for beer, look at wine it's way higher in price and that shit sells. I don't think we are too many years away from $40-50 releases becoming the norm.

That was my impression as well. I could see a growler of it disappearing very quickly on a hot day.

When you buy a brewery release, especially from a young brewery (and O'so is still young, while FF is a baby) you have to accept that fact that you are not just buying that beer- you're investing in that brewery.

While sour pricing is fascinating (you're paying a lot for the expertise of the brewer/blender/cellarman), Stout/Dark Ale/Porter/IPA BA pricing is an absolute racket. It's a racket we all buy into, because some of those beers are damn tasty, but it's still a racket.

Just decided that I am going to pass this up and go to Tyranena's 15th Anniversary party on Nov 15. Only 20 miles from my house and $2.50 taps of their biggest and best BGW beers. The choices I have to make...

Not a bad idea RiO. Tyranena is much closer for me as well. I might be doing the same.

To clarify, the $2.50 pints are from 4 to 6 pm and some of the beers listed will not be tapped until 7 pm, as (in many cases) we only have one half or sixth barrel. Just wanted ya'll to be able to plan accordingly! ^Devourer

The tasting room is quite small. How many people are you expecting that afternoon/evening?
